I don't think Kindred should be forced to build crit

Crit builds are way too expensive for jungle income so I don't feel very comfortable sitting on item 3031 components with the champion, in addition you're set back from starting crit items to begin with because you need at least an item 3715 or item 3706, so i can't really imagine Kindred doing much without getting very fed or being given a lane to free-farm in after laning phase ends.

i like her rework overall and i'm pretty interested in playing her now but the decision to make her scale with crit seems like a really bad one. you took the feast/famine nature out of her % damage stacks and put it into her itemization. I feel like I'd rather go for on-hits/AD heavy builds but crit's now the only way for her to do comparable damage to what she had before the rework

rework goal was to shift her from a ranged skirmisher to a marksmen

crit scaling is way to go

this would have been a better goal in a jungle of a different season, marksmen need lots of farm and the jungle doesn't provide that anymore

you make a point there

but you know, the one who changed the jungle was fearless, and riot will do everything to not call his work shit

Her intended weak phase is the mid game, so a crit build where Kindred has "dead time" before her crit comes online is ideal.

If she had the gradual powercurve of an on-hit build then she'd be good in every phase again and need to be nerfed to be shit in every phase again.

Crit builds are too expensive but triforce builds are ok as a norm.

Sorry I just really hate that a lot of junglers I want to learn seem to require triforce which feels like a heavy snowball item.

the difference is that most triforce users will go full or mostly tank after that, and it's also a much bigger power spike than a single crit item will give most champions. Kindred still needs to invest in other high-cost items besides crit like botrk or death's dance, cleaver, etc. her cheaper items are usually gonna be boots, the jg item and item 3046

Well, see kindred kit scales with CRIT chance, not damage, do you can just build the zeal items, and like an ie really late if you want. Zeal items are all pretty cheap.

Not even their entire kit, just their E (and autos, technically). Q is damage and an AS steroid, W is minor harass, farming tool, and an amp on their Q's spamability, and R is an AoE Tryndamere ult.

W also scales off attack speed, which zeal items provide in spades.

W's speed scales off of it, sure, but, let's be honest: Nobody uses it for attacking champions. It's used for the 2sec CD on their Q, and to cripple monsters. It's a CS tool.

I did just fine as them, and didn't actually buy any crit chance. I was buying IE for their last item, but didn't actually get past BF sword.

You can buy crit, but I just used skill to time my E with their last 15%. An AD/fighter-type build (item 1412 item 3006 item 3071 item 3153 item 3026 item 3031/item 3156) worked just fine. Their Q's AS means you don't need to buy near as many AS items (BorK was more for sustain and MS steal), so you really don't need Zeal items. Unless, of course, you want item 3046 or item 3085 for their passives.

Kindred Mains discord has been experimenting with a ton of different builds. They've found a couple potential buildpaths that feel somewhat nice. Crit is one of them, but you do something a bit...Weird, for it.
