Varus winrate drops to 44% after nerf

Y'know, nerfing deathfire and lethality was already enough.

But there is no upside to his Q nerf. Why not reduce the cooldown when hitting blight stacks more than just breaking even compared to his old Q CD? So people actually get rewarded for playing like an ad carry and not a poke bot?

This makes no sense. If you want people to play crit varus, make crit worth building. No one is going to play Varus at all now.

Because he was OP?

I believe when someone is OP you nerf them.

Also, don't run DFT on crit Varus. And Lethality nerfs don't affect crit Varus either. In fact, Crit varus has only gotten buffs, which was the passive change earlier.

I think I'll still play him. Sure, my chance of sniping enemies to death goes down, but my dueling doesn't really change much. Sure, I lost some power in Precision in my mastery page...but so did everyone else...that enemy Lux will now hurt me less with her Thunderlord's Decree. Got to learn to look on the bright side of things.

I think him losing damage is more important than losing some Q frequency. Even if he isn't great still as a bottom lane carry, you can still support with him playing AP with these changes. It's not like they cut his Q range or something like that. He still gets picked by me for having good poke range I would think.

These changes may be a bit of a bait and switch...intending for players that liked poking with Varus and in general being shitty ADCs to abuse the lethality changes and then goad them into playing Varus AP support to make game search times better. Not enough people playing support at the moment.

Why is 44% bad? That is a normal win rate.

BTW I have yet to see high elo players building crit very much yet after nerfs, most of them are still building lethality.

He is at 44% winrate and it is still ambiguous whether crit or lethality is better.

All varus' needs is his CD's to decrease from popping blight. I thought that was the direction riot was going with him but it didn't happen. Honestly I think having his E decrease from popping blight rather than Q would be quite a good buff. Varus' wants to pop blight and e doesn't scale to a point of it being op.

Thinking about it, having multiple hail of arrows on the ground would feel pretty sweet with varus'.

The nerfs were to force more interaction from varus Q spammers. Once the people who bandwagoned onto the poke lethality build leave his win rate will probably even out once the people who don't read patch notes realize what's happened.
