Why I refuse to RISE (Ranked discussion)

Recently, Riot released a video called Rise which is incredible due to it's amazing animation, music, and so forth. It might be their best Worlds song up to date. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fB8TyLTD7EE

However, despite this song is motivating and likely to inspire people in climbing ranked- i'm convinced this meta makes ranked an absolute mess. When champions like these exist ect. whom haven't been nerfed for several patches, damage being outrageously high, towers going down way too fast (especially Nexus towers), MMR not doing a proper job matching you with the right people (enemies can be higher than you, smurfs are more frequent than before, and in promos you're likely to get paired with people whom int / tilt / ect.) It really raises the question: Is ranked fair to begin with?

When you play ranked, it's to show you are a skilled player. You climb to show you're more than capable of competing against other players, to earn a name for yourself. Even if you aren't Faker or Challenger, you still want to prove yourself. But, with all the imbalances and issues that keep showing up in ranked ... what's the point? ... It's funny, I remember at the start of this season, I thought to myself, "I really want to hit Diamond, I want to go higher up this time and prove i've improved." But with this meta, even solo carrying is nearly impossible. Everyone abuses meta picks, Riot refuses to nerf / balance broken champions and the set up for this meta is "Death Match Galore" with no real strategy or comebacks involved. Sure, you can try but it's 80% likely now that you'll lose if the enemy team gets ahead first, since snowballing is insane now.

When the balance team decides that they need to buff 's damage, give more true damage to his ultimate / execution, when gets to deal double the damage when he was already balanced ... you need to ask yourself- is this the game I want to invest my time in trying to climb against the imbalances? At this point, it's clear this meta isn't worth my time in the frustration, the constant struggling, the reminder that no matter how well you play ... your allies can screw you over and will make you regret ever playing the game to begin with. Just not worth the time.

Better luck next season, and I deeply pray Riot learns from their mistakes. Rhaast: Probably not ....
