Can someone explain these Kog changes?

What the actual fuck am I reading? Why are you massively overcomplicating a simple ability? This isn't what we want. We don't want a paragraph of text and a degree in mathematics to calculate the damage of his ult.

Is this how far you are going to prevent AP Kog from existing? Your completely missing the entire point. If your not going to allow AP Kog to exist, leave his ult alone because that's not the problem with ADC Kog.

So tired of Riot addressing the wrong things. Let's use Vlad as an example.

Community: competitive scene is using Vlad for the damage amp on his ult

Riot: we'll nerf his passive

Community: competitive scene is still using Vlad for the damage amp on his ult

Riot: nerf his sustain

Community: .......competitive scene is using Vlad for the damage amp on his ult

Riot: nerf his damage

Community: Riot listen. Competitive scene is using Vlad for the damage amp on his ult

Riot: longer cooldowns?

Community: RIOT. Competitive scene is using Vlad for the damage amp on his ult

Riot: I agree. Let's nerf his passive and sustain again

Community: ......

So ffs stop balancing around the wrong area. The people who care about his ult are people who enjoyed AP Kog, myself included. If you're not going to bring AP Kog back, fix the things that are actually affecting ADC Kog.

I actually suggested a few times early in the Kog remake that Kog's Ult scale more smoothly. X% damage increase for every Y% of the enemy's HP missing, capping at x3 damage upon reaching 25% health.

But what Riot's doing right now? It's just... Really, I have no idea what they're thinking here. They should honestly just be scrapping the execute Ult at this point. Kog doesn't have the explosive damage he had previously to really take advantage of it. With his machine gun W, the idea was to melt someone's face off and if they used a displacement skill to escape, you could follow up with the Ult to finish them off. Now that Kog is ostensibly returning to his Spellblade Walking play pattern, the execute on the Ult is largely pointless.

Really, Kog's problem is that he offers nothing particularly compelling to his team. He's unpopular because he totally lacks in agency since his Ult got gutted. Before he could at least poke aggressively. Now all he can do is play reactively. And most players don't find that particularly fun.

I would personally like to see Riot focus more heavily on the resist shred part of Kog's kit. It's something fairly unique to him. There aren't any other team-focused tank busting Marksmen, just Vayne and she's totally selfish. If Riot gave Kog a new passive and balanced him around amping his team's damage via resist shred (or whatever) I suspect that would give teams a real reason to use him. He would fit nicely into high burst teams (for decisively remove hard targets) or low damage/high utility teams for amping their damage to the point that it's actually threatening.

Or.

Y'know.

Riot could just actually revert him.
