As a support player, I'd rather see tank supports than mini-mages that are outshined by mages being played as supports.

Okay so we see: Thresh, Braum, Leona, Blitz, Annie, Janna, Nami, Lulu, and Morgana. What's the problem here? It's certainly not perfect, but diversity is pretty decent for supports as far as competitive goes.

problem is that 5 out of 10 (6 out of 11 if you add Annie) are tanks

where are poke/sustain supports?

where the fuck are Sona, Soraka, Zyra?

even Lulu, one of the biggest poke supports, can't outpoke cancer tanks

Not to mention Leona/Thresh/Blitz are played nearly 3 times as much as Janna/Nami/Sona.

There's also the fact that Leona and Blitz have some of the highest win rates in the game while also being some of the most played champs in the game. I prefer not to call things overpowered based on win rate, but the statistics are heavily implying that they are.

AP-support is probably the intended way for her to be played? CDR isn't enough to make her heals life-saving.

Even more so her self heal is almost useless without AP, but with AP you have more sustain than old Mundo.

One game I started building HP after I got Zhonya and Mejai, because I constantly ran out of space on my health bar, they just couldn't kill me.

Well it was easier to heal myself than the team though and I ended up last one standing, soloed the Nexus and won the game 5/0/35.

Another game, death recap showed I received over 6000 damage during that teamfight, but I barely had 2000 HP.

You think thresh is a tank... Hah.

Tanks are a unique class in that true tanks tend to have AoE CC and something that buffs their survivability. Blitzcrank is a prime example of a "mana tank". Leona is a tank support, though. Thresh just builds tanky because its really, really cheap and effective for a support.

What people dont realize is that ANY champion can build tanky. Its not like ADCs where only champions with 500+ range can build AD carry, Or like mid lane where generally only high-base damage magic dealers go.

Any champion can build tanky, doesn't mean it's going to be effective. Not that I mind. Just don't expect tank Soraka to do anything useful in comparison to tank Braum (or any champ that scales with defensive stats).

You are forgetting thresh's passive gives him unlimited free bonus Armour if build with tanky items can be a really good tank.

I still see too many Morganas to really focus my hate on tank supports. Plus, tank supports are only so needed because tanks were outclassed on nearly any other role before the Cinderhulk arrival (Plenty of supps actually stole top lane ahem Lulu)

But yeah, there are perhaps too many tanks on bot lane.

Well their a few reasons for this. Support should all was get the lest kills and that all so means the lest gold. So if a support is getting thing that will help her or he kill stuff that will be bad for the team later on. All so thing that help with killing cost at the end of the day. That why you see Lulu in solo lanes. If you really what those powerful shields and heals then you need a lot of gold.

Another reason why Tanks and mages like Annie are great as supports as they dont need high coast items to do what they are for. Aka heave cc. Another thing is a lot of tank items help them team more.

Talisman=speed boost for your team to get in and out of fights. Glory=Speed up for your team and a slow down for the enemy later Frozen heart= AA slowdown aura FotM= Shield for you mid or ADC LotIS= 20MR for team and a team shield Mikael's Crucible= heals and remove cc from your ADC or mid

This all help your team out and they are cheap as well. So they are much better for a support then say Rabadon's.
