Are people ok with the fact that xerath and lux kind of do the same thing?

They have been very similar to each other for awhile. both have long range, both have snares, both have semi global ults... the only difference really is that one has a shield and the other doesnt. Is it still not time to separate these two from each other?

Xerath had much longer range than lux. He has internal Mana sustain, his abilities are all damage oriented and aoe save for e, . Lux had utility with Shields, had aoe damage on only two spells, a snare that hits two targets as opposed to xerath's one and only her ULT can reach xerath's spell ranges.

which is a problem, since like i said both champions were made to do the same thing. if one has longer range than the other what is the point of pick the champion with shorter range?

Lux had more cc and utility, her spells have little wind up, and unlike xerath, her cc is not less effective when the enemy is close

Xerath is better damage dealer, better poker, more oppressive, more offensive and less defensive.

Lux is better controller, better zoner, better catcher, more defensive and less offensive.

Xerath has more pressure on enemy but he is also more squishy. He can't protect himself as much as Lux can. He assassinates better than Lux in some scenarios too. He can pick squishies with his ultimate from half of map. He has better AoE damage but it is also less reliable.

Lux has longer CD's than Xerath has, so she can't poke in the same level that Xerath can. She also has more telegraphing skillshots. But she closes that gap with her utility, both offensive and defensive. She has less AoE damage but it is also more reliable.

thats not true, xerath actually controls more area because he has longer range and 1 more dmg ability in his W. his Q and E are pretty much the same as lux Q and E, and his ult gives him 4 tries to kill a target from further range than lux ult, lux only has 1 shot from a shorter range.

ANYTHING that applies to lux, except for her shield, applies to xerath. but xerath has the edge with longer range, shorter CD, mana regen, and 1 more damaging ability. hopefully you guys see how not cool that is. they are clones, but one clone is superior, and if that clone gets nerfed and the other buffed then the other clone will be superior. not much diversity there.

lux has pretty lights and is female, thats about it.

How can you say lux Q and Xerath E are better? Lux Q can pick 2 up targets and both are 2 seconds duration. Xerath E at max is 1.75 cd. She is much better catcher.

All Xerath damages are instant, you try to dodge them and if they are hit, nothing you can do. But when Lux misses her E, she lets her E to zone control. You don't pass a Lux E over as a squishy. She can deny you from a teamfight.

And no, Lux ult and Xerath ult are not even same.

I mean come on, with 45% CDR, she can have 13,75 CD on her ultimate! It is faster than Xerath's ult, it has more burst, and is relatively easier to hit.

With passive she can deal 690 + 90% AoE damage on every 13,75 seconds.

Their classes are not even same. One of them is artillery, other is burst. Both can do both, but one prefers to poke over catching, other prefers to catch and burst over to poking. Lux has more similar gameplay style to Syndra than Xerath.

Lux can't be stunned during her ult, allowing her to use it point blank, whereas Xer can't use his near someone with hard CC.

Also Xerath's E is a stun, not a snare.

We need to educate people on stuns vs snares.

Morgana q stun lasts to long! Xerath's snare lasts to long. There is a huge difference in the words snare or stun.

Xerath don't have a snare.

that difference doesnt matter, if ur caught by a snare or a stun you are pretty much dead. they serve the same function, to catch people out. sure you can blow a heal while snared, but 90% of the time you are wasting heal if you get caught by a morg bind.

There are 145 champions in this game. By this point, there's no way to ensure there's always an answer to the question "Why would a team choose X champion instead of Y champion given they are equal strength?".

At least one of them has cooldowns.

My question is why would anyone main either in the current meta, and if you do how do you even win games? Both are squishy immobile mages, easy to camp, easy to shut down, can't roam due to low mobility, unreliable cc, and has a lot of bad match ups in lane (assasins). Just honestly curious.

Almost 1 mil mastery Lux one trick here; and I've got to admit that it's very hard to play her in the current meta. When I do well, I get brushed aside because "its lux; ez champ to snowball games on freelo", but when i get 3 man doven over and over its "why would you EVER pick Lux noob". She's very rewarding to play if you're good enough to not make any mistake in laning, but in most matchups nowadays a missed q or e means certain death. Not to mention I often carry with 15+ kills, but when it comes to late my team has too hard a time (or doesn't try at all) to peel their divers off me, so we lose. Its a hard life ;0;

That's like me saying Aatrox and Jhin are the same because both of their ults do damage. They're completely different
