What the heck do I do against Ryze?!

I don't understand his power curve, it seems like no matter what items he has he can just machine gun me down whenever he gets in range to W.

Either you tank and sustain through his damage until he runs out of passive or mana; or you cc him and blow him up from further than he can reach.

Ban him.

This post is vague. What champion are you using when losing Ryze? Had you considered it to be a poor match up? Are you counter building? If you're building all offense and losing you need to build Magic Resist. Are you communicating to your team that you need a gank?

I'm not against him I usually just get screwed over when the dude who was against him fed him.

Well, Ryze usually just throws his point and click snare/stun (not sure which one it is) then blows you up. His range isn't anything crazy so I would say work around his range. He also doesn't much of an escape out of CCing a pursuing enemy champion. I would say let Ryze push a little further than the middle and bait him into a fight and gank him. He can only CC one person and whoever is in lane versus him should be running some Magic Resist if they're struggling to soak up some of his Houdini attacks.

Rush item 3155 or item 3211 . Then continue building normally. A item 1054 tends to help also.

Avoid him when he's at high mana, and keep track of his CDs. It may seem dumb considering his passive, but knowing whether or not he can retaliate in time from a trade is really important. Push the wave so that he has to spend mana on the creeps and not you. Focus on denying him kills and CS in general, because the best way to get a lead on him is to starve him of gold. When he's at low mana, he's at his most vulnerable, but past a certain point even that doesn't work.

auto attack champions are probably really good against him. because hes tanky. it hard to burst him. and he can't really be kited. so basically someone that can beat the shit out of him. or idk veigar. nuke his ass with 1 hit.

I find that Cho'gath can just silence him when he has his passive up things that can stop him from pulling off his combo can really prevent him from going into that combo button mashing mode even Janna's tornado can stop that from happening
