Unpopular opinion: Lee sin got nerfed too hard in the wrong way

HeartPalpitation··2 votes·681 views

Hear me out here, lee sins i know is a poster boy for hate because "omg he is in every game i play". But i feel riot nerfed lee in the wrong way. Not only did they nerf the base damages on his ult but they also severely slowed down his early game power which was the only real strength he had, after the 30 minutes his winrate dropped so hard even when he was "OP" and now his early game feels sluggish and unreliable, you mine aswell just pick elise or hecarim since they both have better early games and even better late games than lee now. shrug

Lee sin got nerfed too hard

Uhh no he's not.

Lee Sin's RQQ & QRQ combo was seriously oppressive to deal with, as if you got hit at the first time, there's absolutely no way to counter it except hoping he would missed his Q skillshot. The damage nerf & cd nerf to his ult was pretty "meh"

they only needed to nerf his late game, nerfing his early game which is the only thing he ever had going for him was outright wrong, what do you suggest his strength should be? Is he just not allowed to be a viable champion?

The early game damage nerf to his ult was to avoid making him snowball early if he were to get easy kills in the early game due to that oppressive QRQ/RQQ combo of his. He's still a potential playmaker in kicking enemies to his team, dash in/out & etc during early-mid game.

before the ult base damage nerf didn't his kick deal _600 damage? _ and had a high scaling with being a point and click, that shit was needed.

correct me if i'm wrong, I might be thinking of ashe or someone that had like a 600 damage level 3 ulti.

Lee is a lot like Renekton in the sense that: Renekton Picked: Instantly wins the lane in most match-ups LeeSin Picked: Instantly wins the pressure potential and can kill most other junglers early on

I'm not saying Renekton is OP or anything else like that, not saying that Lee is OP either. It's just that when somebody is capable of winning the game in less than 20 minutes because their champ says so . . . well why the fuck do I want to go up against that person? Games end in less than 25 minutes at this point. Get dragons, get 2 free towers for the new little baron. The difference between Lee and Renekton though is that Renekton is functioning as one or two roles but Lee . . . he does EVERYTHING. And I legit do mean everything in every sense of the word.

Instant downvote.

Renekton is understood almost universally as being an early game lane bully and falling off a cliff very soon after. Lee Sin never falls off, his scaling is higher than about 90% of the cast of characters and this has been confirmed time and time again over 6 + years.

because Lee does fall off compared to his early game status. This has been confirmed for 7+ years- this has been confirmed time and time again.

That isn't enough, he has to actually fall off in comparison to everybody else in the game for that to mean something, which he does, but very little especially when compared to other champs within the same early-game niche, hence it's often generalised that he never falls off.

"Lee Sin never falls off"

You are very statistically incorrect, any lee with black cleaver + enchantment warriors WILL FALL OFF, only if they build full lethality they wont.

You can say "Lee doesn't fall off" all you want, but the actual data says otherwise

Lee Sin never falls off

Thats a lie. I don't care what some stranger says on the internet. Actual facts say otherwise. Opinion is meaningless compared to facts.

He is VERY viable being one of the most played jg in the game. Maybe not meta but picked more than often and in the LCS too

There is no Late game. Early is all there is. So any "nerf to late would mean nothing.

Lee Sin got the smallest love taps in League .... only Vayne's legendary -3 AD nerf was smaller.

LankPants3 votes

Well, at least this is actually an unpopular opinion.

It's also completely wrong, the Lee Sin nerf was a slap on the wrist and didn't even touch his pre-6 dominance, which is still far too good. It was in the correct direction, his early game was and is too strong and the nerfs didn't go nearly far enough.

You're right.

I see plenty of comments. Typical, indeed.

I agree, they should just nerf his scaling health or scaling ad or ad scaling on abilities, not his ACUAL STRENTGHS, make a champion good at something, make sure they are good at it, and nerf everything else, NOT THE THING THEIR STRONG AT, thats just dumb
