@Riot what the hell were you talking about
You said we would be getting a completely unique champion literally every part of his kit has been done before. Traps, long beam of poke, garenteed crit, crit does less damage. Go home riot your drunnk

Well, to be fair, his aesthetic is absolutely unique. He has strong Venetian Assassin themes in literally every single aspect of his character design, splash art, spell naming, and even the reveal post itself.
I really don't care about the uniqueness of spells; what matters is the champion kit as a whole when determining if one should pick him. So far, not sure. I know from WoW that hard hitting spells are shitty in certain fights because of overkill on adds. And while an ADC doesn't have the EHP of a tank, unless Jhin can LITERALLY 2 or 3 shot a carry without being fed, that actually might not be applicable.
Again, literally. As in, he autos them three times for a kill because each auto does 2k raw damage.
Too bad they did nothing unique with his aesthetic, no wait, they pretty much squandered it. How the hell did they manage to literally make an ARTIST character so damn uninspired, kit-wise? the hipster in me is crying
Well, champion design teams are split into several subgroups. One is the kit design and another the aesthetic. It's not the most amazing kit in my opinion, but it definitely opens up possibilities for some interesting picks and executions. "Unique" doesn't necessarily mean "useful" but it's probably under "wait and see."
I do love to point to Draven as the worst hype bomb since season 2. The forums were lurid because of how bland his kit looked on paper, how his axes were such a stupid gimmick, and his personality non-existent.
Then he's released, and he becomes a meme, quite literally, overnight. For that reason, I don't like to judge champions too much on their kit before release. Aesthetic, however, is something that Riot has gotten a better and on conveying over the years, so that's unlikely to change drastically upon release.

hes literaly cait 2.0 you have no idea what your talking about
He's got no dash, he's male, he's not British, and his ult is close to Xerath's, not Cait's. Nidalee is closer to Cait than Jhin. Hell, you could feasibly argue it thematically if he were a hextech assassin from piltover. But he isn't.
The boards aren't good at the whole "big picture" thing, are they

the big picture is we were promised something unique and we got a recycled champion
