Everything wrong with Diamond matchmaking in a nutshell

I'm the highest elo on my team. I am diamond 2 ~40 lp. I am matched with diamond 4 (very low lp) players. I waited in queue for 14 minutes or so. I am autofilled to support, a role I never play. The lowest elo players, however, get their main roles.

why is diamond bad? 1: que's are long 2: autofill 3: everyone below diamond 2 is pure garbage or tilted to the depths of tartarus
