It didn't... Riot just wanted more ppl to play dynamic queue so they eliminated tb.

Oh get over yourself. It failed miserably. Queue times were astronomical, especially if you wanted to play something against the meta.

It failed because it was just a cesspool of 60% tryhards that only pick the top champions that were usually banned at the time, while the other 40% picked weird off meta cheese. Tryhards and cheese tactics don't mix.

Teambuilder failed because people were whining about que times not because of the off meta picks. the fact that remains is simply this: teambuilder was the result of a need, that need was the ability to play a specific champion in a specific role. that need quickly shifted from the above to "we want shorter que times" hence DQ appeared but removed our ability to preselect a champion and made us pick between two lanes instead of one.

in my personal opinion they should have removed blind pick in favor of teambuilder to allow the alternative for those who wished to learn a single lane over a pick two which HEAVILY favors you getting support if its anywhere in your two picks. (I'm a support and jungle main but even I tire of getting support in 75% of my games)

I think a vast majority of people wanted to play everything but support so that made queue times insane and people leaving/getting kicked frequently made queue times longer too
