Fervor is also a good mastery on ADC. So if Warlord was nerf (and only warlord) Marksmen would abuse Fervor.

In the new rune system, both Warlord and Fervor are nerfed, which will probably more annoy Marksmen then melee champion.

But again, Wait and see.

adcs stopped taking fervor when riot changed it to only stack with autoattacks and not abilities. fervor is too hard to stack for most adcs which is why almost all of them avoided it,kog maw is tho only adc i can think of that takes fervor consistently. Also adcs got most probably the best keystone in the game with the new rune system

Marksmen stopped because item 3094 became a thing.

It basically allows a marksman to stack damage and skip building sustain and still heal up quite decently in the midgame.

If RFC was to be nerfed or warlords itself then they´d go back to fervor, again.

have you tried the new runes? I'm not even sure which keystone you mean because the ADC runes are mediocre.

Is it a joke ?

i dont understand how warlords blood lust wasnt balanced as a fighter rune. when you hear warlords the first thing you think about must be that little girl 30 miles away shooting at you.

I do agree that press the attack should give more ad to melee champs, but you do get 12% extra damage after 3 attacks rather than the 8% ranged champs get.

Devölution3 votes

XD they buthchered that version of Press the attack, its now garbage support mastery.

Zerenza6 votes

I don't understand why you think it's a..."Garbage support mastery." 12% bonus damage from all sources is pretty busted, that's almost the same buff that Vlad's ultimate gives.

Vlads ult does what now

Arakadia17 votes

Vlad's ult increases damage on marked targets.

Daedric Etwahl1 votes

I should probably look into these sorts of things...

Now is that from all sources, or just Vlad's damage?

Zerenza5 votes

All sources, by 10% for 4 seconds.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

Isn't it only magic damage?

Zerenza6 votes

Nope it quite literally says all sources lol

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

Huh. Alright. Wasn't sure. XD

Devölution2 votes

Ye,im gonna support my team with that mastery I guess XDD Except im splitpush player and play 1v1.Also 12% compared is worse than current fervor at every level.

Zerenza3 votes

So, a maximum of 64 AD at level 18 is better than 12% increased damage from all sources? I don't think so, if an ADC has 300 AD and an Infinity Edge their crits will do 750 damage, but wait, let's ad 12% of 750 to 750, that means 840, now let's add the initial bonus damage from procing Press The Attack so 120+840=960. If we had ferver and you had max stacks on ferver(which takes 8 auto attacks) AND you were level 18 so you 64 bonus ad we'd take 364x2.5=873 this means that even at level 1 press the attack is better because it adds 30 damage at level 1, so at level 1 ferver adds 8 AD but Press the attack adds 12% bonus damage and 30 extra damage. Press the Attack is better at every level.

Press the Attack sucks. I've been playing on PBE a lot. It's not about whether 12% is good or not. That depends on the champ you're playing, and also depends on how often you are participating in teamfights.

About champs: Champs that depend on raw basic attacks and crits are better off with Lethal Tempo. 12% more damage benefits other things that normally don't get to scale off your attack speed or crits, especially abilities with high base damage... assuming you save it for after you proc PtA, which is the issue I'm getting to next.

The shitty thing about Press the Attack is that you usually miss out on a lot of damage amp because you need to apply it with 3 basic attacks. Even champs who can apply it more quickly will miss out on burst windows pretty often. Another problem is that the champ's kit won't necessarily align with the rune very well. Either you have the ability to apply it quickly and reliably, or you have the right kind of scaling to benefit from the 12%, but not many champs have both.

Example:

Irelia - She can proc it fast because Q procs onhits but her first Trinity Force proc, along with the base damage of Q will not benefit because they are used in the application of it. Imagine if you had Dark Harvest instead and got like 300 extra damage on your first Q. Forget about 12% especially since it misses your initial Q, that's peanuts.

On top of that there are other runes that give you more frontloaded damage like Dark Harvest (yes even after the nerf it's quite good) or even Electrocute or Arcane Comet. Then for raw backloaded power you have Lethal Tempo. Even for champs who benefit relatively well from 12% damage it's at an awkward place in between extremely frontloaded runes and extremely backloaded runes. It won't be optimal on very many champs unless it gets a numbers buff to compensate for its inherently bad mechanics.

TLDR - It's a mechanically bad rune. Trust me, I have a good amount of experience testing the new runes.

Zerenza2 votes

The thing is that an ADC, most likely the person using Precision, not all ADC's should use it because Lethal Tempo is better for some but many ADC's would find Press The Attack to be infinitely more helpful than Fervor of battle. The rune isn't bad at all, i don't understand why people say it's garbage, not to mention that most ADC's don't have to worry about Front Loaded damage, or initial damage when entering a fight, they already take Fervor so they shouldn't be worried about lacking upfront damage since they didn't worry about it before, they just have to proc it with Auto's and they'll be fine, it'll be better than Fervor on Them.

Some people that i think could REALLY benifit from Press The Attack are as follows.

Lucian (Already proven to be broken with it.) Xayah She can use her W attack seed steroid to proc it then get 12% increased damage on her E afterwards, making it perfect for her.

These are the two that I"V tested on the PBE, cause guess what, i have plenty of experience myself. The rune isn't bad, many ADC's should take this over Lethal Tempo because it's just downright better for them.

dandyd00d1 votes

Tristana too. You need 4 attacks to proc your e anyway. But Letal Tempo would still probably be better

Devölution1 votes

idc about adc cocksuckers. This rune is gigabad on bruisers thats it.

highnivia1 votes

This post is literally how fervor was the only big advantage bruisers had over adc and your explanation on why fervor is worse than pta (which it isnt) is using the example of a goddamn adc. Why is fervor necassary on the melee toplaners using it previously. Fiora : 12 dmg increase from pta is useless on true dmg Camille:^ Yasuo: doesnt fit his playstyle at all since he doesnt want to stand there and keep autoing someone he wants to kite Riven: doesnt auto alot and if she does she already uses her combo inbetween making pta useless cus the 12 dmg procs when her spells are down already Urgot: attackspeed from the tree is wasted Kled : No flat ad when lane phase starts cus of tree also spells do more dmg than autos so ad is worth more than 12 dmg Gnar : If he would get mega gnar after proccing pta it would be good but fervor just does way more dps Darius : True dmg again Passive has insane ad scaling q does either . Doesnt want to have attack speed runes Renek: doesnt want as runes. Fervor was spiking early/mid game like renek did AAtrox: More ad,More heal

what about fervor didnt adcs abuse

Khristophoros4 votes

Melee champions are getting a better deal with the new keystones especially Dark Harvest. They can more easily pick up souls in fights right after an enemy (or even an ally) goes down

LordGeovanni6 votes

melees are usually the first to die in fights not adcs

Khristophoros3 votes

And yet ADCs aren't able to safely go to where the souls drop in the middle of a fight unless it's a total faceroll fight and they didn't need DH in the first place.

The champs that can use it best are tanky melee champs or hypermobile melee champs.

And divers like J4 and Vi who can burst an ADC just got more burst from DH to make their job easier.

OyddAWqJ5r3 votes

Uhhhh Melees are getting some pretty broken buffs as well. In fact I haven't seen a single ADC carry a PBE game yet.

Especially tanks, those guys are getting some crazy good stuff in addition to free base tank stat increases that further synergize with the stuff they're getting.

Most ADCs won't be speccing into Predator or Dark Harvest, so you can assume it's basically a 99% melee only thing.

There's a lot of videos about ADCs (more than bruisers if I'm correct, but there's also a lot of dark harvest/predator) carrying and stomping with lethal tempo, try to watch the latest Vandiril video with Vayne. Clearly carrying and working without really trying hard.

OyddAWqJ5r1 votes

PBE is full of games where you'll be matched up against full bronze teams. My match history is full of games with unreasonable scores like 27/2/20 and whatnot on champions like Aatrox and Volibear.

Don't take it to mean anything. Vayne and every other ADC is extremely susceptable to the Dark Harvesters and Predators one-shotting them with ease.

But you can't take that to mean anything either, since it's happening in an environment where teamplay is damn near nonexistant.

Point is: It's impossible to tell at this time, as every role in PBE has extreme points to shine at the moment and with lack of higher level play to determine true effectiveness, it's impossible to gauge the viability of anything beyond what could possibly work and what won't.

Metleon1 votes

Wow... Yeah fervor is dead. Was fine with DFT getting removed because most champs that use it have a fine replacement and malz should be nerfed but this is awful.

Hunted90001 votes

I'm pretty sure lethal tempo more than enough makes up for fervor getting removed, yi gets early game, jax is gonna be running up to ranged people with his e ready anyway plus hes gonna delete them off the map when he gets to them. I don't want to analyze every melee champ we got but its still pretty balanced in my thought process considering melee champs also have runes adc's wouldnt be able to abuse as hard.

TwitchInMyPants1 votes

Fervor was better on ranged champs anyway

Its definitely nice to have if you're Fiora or something but its absolutely not as reliable as Gnar or some ADC taking random poke autos and slowly building it up

The new % dmg rune should be easy for melee to proc almost as often as range since its any 3 abilities/attacks, anyone with ranged pokes like a GP or something would be able to take advantage of this easier
