we as a community are afraid of innovation and anything out of meta

and im not talking about stuff like ap twitch or something.

im talking about different viable builds that fill a different niche or a single different item for Christ sake.

let me tell you a lil story real quick. (there will be a lil message below the story if you dont want to read it)

a while back i was doing a ranked game and got paired with a jinx. nothing out of the ordinary right? well as the game went on she was building more or less normally untill she built a . i dint think nothing much of it because it gave good stats and worked really well in teamfights. and my team lost their fucking mind about it. they flamed her like mad and kept asking her why she was trolling. well i asked her politely why she built it instead of the usual crit items and she said "it makes 3 rockets, lots of wave clear and higher damage in teamfights" made sense to me. tried to get my team to calm down and i started shotcalling, we made a big comeback but they wouldnt stop flaming regardless.

as the game was coming to a close they were asking for reports in allchat and eventually someone said "stop trying to come up with new shit and let the koreans do it jinx"

low and behold. not even a full month later and any adc that can make good use of it are meta and sitting at the top is jinx.

people are so damn scared of something different they wont try ANYTHING new and flame anyone who trys to do ANYTHING different.

we as a community seriously need to stop with this. not only do we lag behind in the meta because we wait for other regions to figure it out but we also make the game stagnate for ourselfs.

maybe next time you see someone playing something in a different role or building a bit strange give it some thought and the benefit of the doubt rather than jumping on them and flaming.
