the pbe preview shows her with only dark purple colours and effects, she visually lacks her own personality.

it honestly looks like you took some bits from odyssey jinx and slapped project vi's helm on her and smothered her in purple.

i would have much rather seen project jinx as a sort of "what if she was part of the same line as project ashe but instead of forming a resistance she just outright went off the rails and did her own thing"

Jinx is awful, the visor is not PROJECT rather "superhero-esk." Her stomach looks exposed (I think that's supposed to be armor) but this just screams "not PROJECT" and it just looks like she is wearing tight pants and rubber boots. At least on the splash art you can see the knee caps. This is not the tactical cyborg suits the rest of PROJECT wears.

Over all the whites and bright "PROGRAM" armor pieces are the biggest eyesore for me. The Visors coming off for all of them are a huge turnoff as well. I don't think Jinx can be saved, but at least Akali and Irelia can.

The fan art version of project jinx is way better overall in my opinion then what Riot did with her. The particles are on point but I agree with you it's just random and not project enough for me either. I'm glad that I'm not the only one and everyone on the internet seems to agree.

Her character outside of Star Guardian is so Chaotic Neutral. All she wants to do is blow shit up and laugh. She has nothing to gain or to lose being a part PROJECT. Everyone else has some kind of purpose for being PROJECT, gathering memories, taking down PROJECT, realizing their still human, surviving.

There's still destruction to be had, it's just with Jinx there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason.

Before we can actually make any kind of statement about all this, we have to know their backstory. It seems that they fleshed out the new lore for this cast of Project skins, they will present it in the next days.

For example, it could be like this: While yes, every other champion seems to have some kind of motive why they joined Project... Who says that Jinx actually joined on free will?

These are supposed to be "the first prototypes" of the modern Projects. It could be in their story that all of them got kidnapped and experimented on against their will. Jinx didn't join Project on her own, she was a victim. Would actually make alot of sense with the characters chosen here.

For example, Warwick has exactly that same backstory. He got kidnapped by Singed and experimented on. He didn't have a say in this. Pyke didn't become the undead he is today because he wanted to. His crew betrayed and killed him, leaving him to his fate to become the serial killer he is today. Jinx actually seems to have some tragic backstory we don't know yet. Could be something similar for her like for Warwick and Pyke.

Jinx doesn't necessarily need a reason to join Project if she didn't chose to join on her own. I imagine a similar situation like what happened in the movie Ghost in the Shell. Before there was major as the first successful Ghost transplanted, there have been tons of failed experiments. They all died.

These first Projects were most likely experiments that were considered a failure. They were left out in the dead zone, believed to be dead, too. But they are not. They survived. And they are mad about what they did to them.

Before jumping to conclusions that Jinx doesn't make sense in Project, how about we wait for the actual lore to drop?

Her theme would actually fit PROJECT fantastically if they had gone the route of having her be a damaged and malfunctioning PROJECT that has gone completely wild. Maybe she would be used by the government as an example of what the resistance is "really" like.

While I like your idea, I could see her just being a normal PROJECT. Imagine her being her usual self and she somehow gets caught (maybe by PROJECT Vi) and the government tries to brainwash her and transform her into a PROJECT, only to fail and create a greater monster than before.

Her tagging with the Resistance could work, since she only seeks to blow things up, while the Resistance seeks any help in their war while also keeping an eye on all PROJECTs. Letting her loose could be very devastating for both sides (government and rebellion).

That would be mindblowing. Imagine that her personality fractures even more gettint through shit in there and assumes most of the stuff hostile around her after breaking out from there. Don't panic doesn't work anymore. Malfunctioning self deffense mechanism comes to play and shit goes wild. That would be like her on stock but bronken on the willing part and cold systematic on execution. Non-stoping killing machine. The animation could be more fractured too like little electric harges blocking the movement making the feeling of it like the picture of a disturben TV channel. And the don't panic backfires in her head. That would go insanly well with the above mentioned fan art kind of project Jinx.

Rioter themselves stated that she is supposed to be chaotic neutral. She doesn't go out of her way to kill someone, she wants to have fun. So if it turns out that people are getting too close to a bunch of rockets she is going to blow up for fun, then so be it. But she won't get out of her way and aim these rockets specifically at people.

That being said. This is the most pissed off i've been at a skin yet and I rarely if ever outright hate them. I defended Dunkmaster Ivern, I thought it was an awesome callback to the older hair styles in basketball. I will NOT defend this trainwreck, The splash art is SO RUSHED and it's painfully obvious it is. That stomach is AWFUL. Her hand vanishes behind the rocket launcher so she shouldn't be holding it, her "eyes" are like glued on to her mask. They are misaligned and don't look even remotely right. Her ingame model is even worse. Like wow. Her weapons are.. Cool? I guess? that's about the only thing i'll give this travesty. I've never wanted to say "redo this skin" but honeslty? Redo this Skin Riot.

I can totally see Jinx being the type to go along with an experiment just cause she thought it was fun. She probably likes the rebels because they blow stuff up. His surgery was botched which left him coocoo crazy. (and even before then he was a black market dealer, not the nicest of people) He doesn't have a reason beyond "money" and "parts" (high value parts, because art ofc). Like the skin is not Project. definitely not, and needs massive revisions like neon. However Jinx herself could easily fit into the Project lineup as someone who willingly went along with it, escaped, (because she's Jinx), found the others, liked the cut of thier jib, and joined them just for some fun. Alternatively, since this is not the same universe, They could go back to the sorrowful Jinx who was forced into it and became crazy that way instead, like Jhin did. Your forgetting that Jinx has an actually insanely sad backstory, being a part of Zaun as a bright eyed bushy tailed girl and then watching people die/other events unexplained cracking her. Either way, Star Guardian making fun of Project can still make 100% sense. As she can make fun of herself now. (which she totally would) because it's different timeline. Won't defend the skin, but the decision of timeline was fine as an analog too Jhin.

If they wanted to go the cyberpunk aesthetic for her, which does feel like a decent fit, I think expanding the Cyberpop line would have worked better for Jinx. Of course, Cyberpop isn't a line that gets events yet (if it ever is) so I guess that was never going to be a consideration and they were only thinking "who do we want for PROJECT?" not "What skin do we want for Jinx?"

SG only worked because it was legendary, they had the lines to adjust her personality slightly to be a mostly good wild card character.

She should've gotten a full tactical suit like akali or irelia. She looks too human for the skinline, the only parts of her that look robotic are the arms. I'm a jinx skin junkie, but this looks way too much like odyssey to justify the price tag. :/ That said, the visor and little jacket are cute.

So now that the skin has hit the PBE, it's obvious the midriff is supposed to be white program parts. I think the texture and splash art could communicate that better. I'd change the color so it couldn't be mistaken for a human skin tone. A light silver/grey might be good. Also add more "seams" in the metal to indicate that it isn't just skin. It'd go a long way to make her look less human.

You do realize ALL the project skins are mostly just shades of grey and another color? Yi is yellow/orange and grey, Ashe is blue and grey, Fiora is pink(?) and grey, Katarina is red(?) and grey, Vi is orange or gold and grey...

If you're gonna complain about one skin being mostly just shades of one color, might wanna look at all the other project skins, 'cause it's a running theme from the beginning.

As it stands she looks more like shes trying to pull off a batman who laughs facemask with half a project skin, its like a new guy got into the art team and didnt know what project was so he just went with cyberpunk and normal jinx clothes with a darker color scheme. At the very least she should be completely decked out in machinery from the neck down to fit the skin line, otherwise im just gonna call this skin Battle Boss Reject Jinx

My main tweak would be to cover up Jinx's stomach. I don't think Jinx needs to wear crop tops in a majority of her skins. The jacket can stay because it is cool and nice touch. The hair is cool too.

As many have said, it doesn't feel like a PROJECT skin. To me, it just feels like some weird futuristic superhero/villain instead of a PROJECT skin.

As a Jinx main I’ve been waiting for this skin for quite a while, and oh boy is it completely different than I expected. The model is so bad compared to the particles and it’s honestly quite sad. Whoever made the VFX is very talented but this model and splash is just awful (not saying they are poorly made but they are poorly designed). Comparing it to project Jhin, Ashe, or vayne, it looks like the absolute bottom of the barrel. Whoever made the models for Akali and Jinx, please replace them.
