unpopular opinion: i would rather have a permanent pve mode in the way of odyssey than TT

rubberduckie666·8/11/2019, 2:58:24 PM·88 votes·15,901 views

while i think their "reasoning" behind getting rid of TT was bs i rarely played it. i would much rather have an expanded pve mode with actual progression and all that than a 3v3 mode. dominion and TT should be kept around for customs so people who enjoyed it can at least still play it

EDIT: ok apparently alot of people are getting confused with what TT is. TT= Twisted Treeline

odyssey and doom bots were SO FUN i really can't stand it

Why not both?

Even in politics, society, discussion -- everything nowadays is "Give me what I want and take away what they have." Race, religion, gender, sexual orientation...... video games, apparently.

Everything.

Its always about "I want this thing. They can't have that thing." or "If they have that thing, why can't I have this other thing?" There's no correlation. There's nothing about TT that stops you from having your PVE mode. There's legitimately no reason to remove TT to get what you want.

You're just being malicious towards another demographic because you're not happy with the state of your own. For no reason.

You can fix yours without hurting anyone else's. Nobody has to lose here. We can all win.

This is a horrible mentality to have, and should be snuffed out whenever and wherever possible.

ModRowanstar8/11/2019, 5:53:38 PM7 votes

tt was nostalgic.

Daddy Ants8/11/2019, 3:26:07 PM6 votes

If they replaced Twisted Treeline with a PvE game mode, how would you go about keeping people interested in the mode?

There would need to be some sort of progression system to keep people coming back to the mode.

A couple of missions probably won't cut it.

Kovorix8/11/2019, 4:45:41 PM6 votes

Just wait until they delete SR because TFT is so awesome.

Camille Ferrøs8/11/2019, 4:58:26 PM5 votes

We all want anything that isn't SR or ARAM at this point. And the bigger problem lies there. They are removing a mode yet again and there is no mention of new permanent ones coming in. NB is a perfect fit but they don't want to develop it because TFT sucks all resources and time.

CyanSolution2478/11/2019, 6:04:23 PM5 votes

This actually sounds awesome Imagine if they brought back old runes in this game mode AND the skill trees from Odyssey! Playing a champion unlocks new skills for that champion At the end of the game, random runes drop. The runes thing is what makes me really interested, uncap all stats but make runs all random drops, give us the choice to use either our strongest runes all together or runes that synergize (like a bunch of cdr runes) or just (a bunch of high stat runes) could be really fun. (just like the old rune system but with no paywall just an ulock system)

honestly, I just want something else to work towards in league.

CheapSleepyPills8/11/2019, 6:13:14 PM4 votes

The worst part of this game is consistently the people, so I agree.

Naalith8/11/2019, 7:10:56 PM3 votes

So don't get me wrong, I love the PVE modes and have completed every achievement for the star guardian and Odyssey events, but I'm not sure events like those would hold peoples' interest long term. Even if the scope of the modes were widely expanded, PVE is still inherently less replayable than PVP and everyone here plays League for the PVP anyways. Additionally, League's isometric view is just kinda... meh for dedicated PVE games where you only control one unit. League isn't an RTS.

That being said, I would love to see a PVE League game that is like a first or third person RPG with co-op. Something expansive like the Witcher but with League IP would be amazing, I'm not sure if Riot would ever make something single player but it could be cool.

Stop using ''unpopular opinion'' in ur titles when its a popular opinion on the boards and you're basically doing it just to get views and upvotes.

Light Burner8/12/2019, 7:56:00 PM2 votes

this isnt unpopular at all tft was a desperate act riot tried to use to save a dying game.

Pandemic Punch8/12/2019, 8:04:11 PM2 votes

PvE modes were by far my favorite modes. Star Guardian: Invasion was executed significantly better for casual play. The missions for Space Odyssey ruined the casual experience since all 4 other players would vote to quit every time you enter a game with more than two augments.

If they ever released Space Odyssey again, they need to allow you to use all of the augments for the missions so that the people who play it casually can still have fun once they have earned everything.

P.S. I wish people would stop putting "Unpopular Opinion" in the title. It is dumb and looks dumber when it is upvoted into the heavens.

Odyssey was so much fun. Loved that shit. Got every single onslaught mission done on 2 accounts in one weekend, then another 2 accounts in the following week.

Loved that shit. Almost as much as the first round of Nexus Blitz

it's sad how everything now needs to have some sort of ''progression'' added to it, even in games like starcraft 2, got people saying ''well I reached max level no reason to play anymore'' is the concept of playing the game because it's fun such a foreign concept? do you really NEED some sort of progression to enjoy a game? if so then I suggest you cookie clicke,r infinite never ending progression.

BigFBear8/12/2019, 7:53:31 PM2 votes

Omg yeah so hardcore unpopular that it get 65+ upvotes...

TheBioB8/14/2019, 5:39:14 AM1 votes

I really liked TFT but it got very boring after a while, I am sure PvE does as well, adding more content will extend the duration of how long you enjoy it for. I pray that Riot keeps adding more PvE. Please check out this board post, https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/QbuglnjR-no-more-pve . It is my opinion in the matter. Leave a like and a comment to get Riot's attention on this matter.

Dewott6108/12/2019, 12:48:33 AM1 votes

as long as they don't do those missions were you have to make your teammates only use like one upgrade or something like that

blacklight288/12/2019, 4:07:25 AM1 votes

I'm a player of TT in ranked and i say NO like WTF . This mode is actually super fun to play really more reactive and being in the edge than slow ass 5v5 .

Pxerkza8/12/2019, 8:51:44 AM1 votes

a pve mode that has mini games that can give you additional BE and some special hard to do randomized objectives that can give you OE but not big enough to dissuade players from playing SR

Zange8/12/2019, 8:56:23 PM1 votes

I think its rarther popular opinion... As much as i like TT i could go with that kind of replacemement. The thing is: they couldnt update TT in terms of gameplay and graphics for years, thinking they would waste time on proggressive mode and not make it rot? Doubtfull :< The amount of resources would be huge there. Unless you would pay RP for every 'next stage' :^D Or, well... be happy with the same maps/enemies but in recolor lol. People would get bored too soon and it would be mostly for premade teams. SoloQ for those was always the saddest one, talking mostly about amount of salt and trolling. Invasion and Odyssey were fun only on highest lvls, i dont see people willingly play it, as solo, for all year long xd But if they would like to expand the lore of the game with mini pve story modes. - that would be nice.

The Ecdysiast8/13/2019, 12:30:24 AM1 votes

You're right about one thing.

That is an unpopular opinion.

ChrisBrownze8/13/2019, 3:41:12 AM1 votes

Odyssey was a fun challenge to beat. But after beating all the missions it didn't have much replayability. I hope they still make another pve challenge gamemode like this in the future. Its definitely one of the best events riot has ever done, but making a permanent pve feels unfeasible because they take too long to develop. PVE should remain an event based thing that happens once every year or 2.

sp4418/13/2019, 2:39:53 PM1 votes

Honestly, anything would be better than TFT.

Yeah, I played a bit of TFT, but it was more because of the addicting nature of the next roll rather than any actual fun.
