REPOST because riot thought this would belong in player moderation I had to change the title.

[zombie-brand-mindblown] ** Disclaimer: My perspective is taken from what might very likely seem as an unpopular point of view but i am coming from a very mature stand point.**

I cant say ALL the trolls but i know for a fact its contained to quite a portion of them. Quite impossible to determine the exact % of troll / fooled players. I have brought this up before in a previous post. Perhaps it was too long to read and not all going towards the same direction.

These youtubers are responsible simply because they conspire to the birth of what we call trolls that effect overall gameplay. If you ever wondered why you had a player with a very awkward build in ranked or why he / she picked a champion in a unorthodox role it is likely they have gotten the idea from one these youtube videos. Sure we can argue that everyone is free to the break the meta and try new things , as the meta always does find a way to change around riots balancing but the infulence from these videos are just not made to break the meta it is disguised and advertised to do so. In order to grasp subscribers for financial gain, they upload these videos claiming basically from its chosen title that X champion with X build will be considered :

  • Broken

  • New meta

  • Overpowered

But as i said above this is only to grasp the eyes of the viewers its nothing but marketing play at hand here. Sometimes they play off whats popular in high elo and just make a video on it for .. just more subscribers. Besides these clowns contributing to our circus in ranked i do however respect the youtubers that don't bother to make these wacky videos with ridiculous ideas and actually contribute to coaching us and helping us with the game that said i hope you don't fall for this bullshit any longer.

I don't really understand the point of this thread though. Yes, people will do stupid shit they see popular players do. What do you want to do about it, exactly? Somehow make bronzefresco stop using clickbait titles and set up custom games to make shit builds look viable?

Nobody makes threads regarding youtube influencing the game and i see nobody discussing it there's a lot of other things people bring up often that nothing can be done about it. This is just for awareness because there are people being actually fooled by the vids and play the champions in the manner they are shown in the videos. And i am witnessing it in my matches.

This thread discusses infulence on champions being played in unnatural positions with weird item builds... what does that have to do with player moderation ??

Sometimes some of the builds and play styles mentioned are game-breaking strong. If I recall correctly, Tank Ekko and BC-Youmuus Lucian became very popular last year once people heard about these builds through various platforms like Youtube. That said, I agree that some builds and play styles endorsed in some of these videos are kind of crappy - like that one video on passive no-damage Tryndamere a couple of months ago.

That said, there's really not much that be done. People will try off builds and different play styles if they sound interesting and there's not much that can be done to reduce someone's influence on the game.

If riot made a disclaimer towards these types of videos maybe it would reduce it a little bit. But maybe they wont speak out on it because at the end the youtube videos could possibly reel in more new league players so they leave be but maybe they aren't aware of just how much infulence these videos provide over the player base.
