One person getting caught past 20 minutes should only mean 45 seconds of disadvantage, not 45 seconds + 3.5 minutes of them having baron so we have to play super passively and give up 2 inhibs or else we lose. This is worse if they have a banner of command.

Except we can't contest when our jungler is dead or is in botlane. We have to give up the next 4 minutes completely.

not entirely true. certain champs can steal baron well. or at least stall baron, by poking their squishies down. Remember, when they attack baron, they get a baron DEBUFF. weakness to attacks.
but yes, this is a problem with low elo junglers. they do stupid stuff and get themselves killed when baron is up. So you need keep an eye on them after 20 mins, and remind them, "hey stop being a dumbass and facechecking brush in dark jungle: baron is up. we need your smite".
This is suposed to be a game of strategy. if a team member is oblivious of BASIC game strategy.. then you WILL lose. working as designed.
sarii fox1 votesI think a better alternative would be to make getting baron a little more challenging, especially lategame. Late game baron is not a challenge at all for a winning team, I think baron should be more of a risk but keep the high reward.
