I broke mine playing during Season 6. My last game was in the beginning of July with sparse interactions with League toward the end - haven't played since. The only thing I'm missing is how the game used to be. Since this shitshow of a season started, I can still count on one hand how many things I actually liked about it. To me, Season 6 is to League as Cataclysm was to WoW...a miserable failure and a mistake to implement. The similarities are too scarily close to ignore.
Edit: And upon reading the preseason changes, I can safely say that for now, I'm fucking done. I've been playing since season 2, I watched this game reach its highest points in popularity, balance, health, and overall fun, and now we continue on with their decline in season 7. You pretentious, egotistical assholes have learned nothing from any of the previous updates, any of the previous seasons, or any of the feedback your non-leg-humping community has given you. You continue to suggest that you hear us, you know how we feel, you lie and say our criticism means something - fuck off. The only reason you brought back solo queue, finally released replays, and are building a sandbox mode is because you know how hard Season 6 fell flat on its face, and want to bring back or retain what veteran players you have left that haven't been driven away by your idiocy.
Oh power creep is a problem? Let's revamp the mastery system and load all of the power into bullshit keystones, and with them, let's revamp the items to give a shit ton of penetration to further encourage snowballing.
RNG is a confirmed issue, but random dragons, crit, randomly spawning champion interactives, and fucking PLANTS are just fine right?
Mobility creep is on your radar? Oh is it?? Because literally right after this was said, you released Kalista. Are you fucking serious? Then we have Gnar, Kindred, Ekko, Ahri's retarded Q speed, mobility shoved into reworks for no reason and then protected, Kat doesn't have a ward hop anymore, but holy shit you probably couldn't bear the thought of Lee losing his precious wall jumps could you Riot? And then there's protobelt, which did exactly what we told you it would do and gave free burst engages to teamfight champions which would be problematic, and then gave mobile champions EVEN MORE MOBILITY, as if that was somehow not considered. You know what was considered? That according to you, the a non-mobile champion's answer to mobility...is adding mobility.
And speaking of mobility, this one you don't see - the overloading of kits just to make them unique, and with them comes added mobility because why not. It's as if you don't know what you want any of these champions to do, so you just cram everything you can think of into a kit, load them with passives and situational effects, allow resourceless mobility, and allow them to spam all of their abilities without punishment. That's not fun, that's fucking obnoxious. But wait, I should take back that first part - it IS fun, but only for the person playing them, because who cares about how the rest of the players feel right? Is that why CertainlyT is still allowed to touch champions? Because he can appeal to the low attention spans of the players you're trying to bring into the game from watching the #LC$BIGPLAY$ on the big screen since the vets have largely bought all that they're interested in? Welp, time for a new crowd to bring in more money.
And finally, the biggest problem facing your company, your delusions of grandeur that League will be a global sport that lasts generations. Ho..lee...shit... You honestly expect this is going to happen don't you? You truly believe this is in your future. Let me be one of the many who told you as you made this announcement to reaffirm my position - if any of you believe this, you're all fucking _insane. _ If a game becomes popular enough to maintain a competitive scene, it should be treated as an unintended side effect of a game being good. If you design specifically for a spectator event, it will fail, as we've seen with Heroes of the Storm, which was stillborn despite Blizzard funneling money into it, and STarcraft, directly related to spectator focus. Unfortunately you can't see this at the moment because League is still the most popular game in the world, but when you fully commit to the spectator experience being more important to design to than the actual game, you will begin to lose players faster than you already are.
I know during this time of year the white knights swarm the media platforms and praise anything you're releasing as they always do, and you get sucked up into this vortex of positivity and praise, forgetting that just because something is new and arguably "fun" doesn't mean it's healthy and / or balanced. You only come to that conclusion long after enough of the bootlickers have been silenced and you're forced to accept that a controversial idea was actually a bad idea, and it's a shame really, that we could have told you ahead of time if an army of drooling monkeys hadn't blocked all of the "nay-saying" and "incessant whining" that "salty veterans" tend to do when you're "improving" the game...
So for now, congratulations Riot, you win. Maybe you'll come to your senses eventually, and no, I'm not fooled by the PR moves since I've seen quite enough of them to know you don't mean half the shit you say and it's just to placate the angry masses. As such, I'm not holding my breath for genuine concern to come back to design and balance. I suppose I'll check back in a few months, but why spoil a gift to you now? You got what you wanted; one less player calling you out on your bullshit.
