If you really want to be a better player

Choose a champion to main. Over 80% of your games should be played on this champion.

Which champion should it be? Most people will say "choose someone you really like." That's a solid way to choose your main.

If you don't have any preference, start by looking at what Challenger and Diamond 1 players are using as their mains. Those champs are already proven to get multiple people into high elo.

Those people are in bronze. The only exceptions are those that spend so much time playing LoL that they can be proficient on two or three champions in the same time it takes me to be proficient on one.

Welp. That rules out support players. . . . Except Thresh. Diversity destroying bastard that he is.

I think good support mains are Braum, Thresh and Lulu. Maybe Zyra and Karma too, but they're squishy, I'd rather use a tanky support

The problem with support is how many holes it normally has to fill - especially in Yolo Queue. It's really hard to do that with 1 champion. Maining a single support champion will give you more bad match-ups than maining a champion elsewhere because you function in a 4v4 instead of a 1v1 lane. Can you do it? Sure. But there's a bigger trade-off than in specializing in 2 or 3. This isn't a complaint, mind you. It is a big part of why I'm a support main. But I main the role, not any singular champion.

I've found it's beneficial to watch higher level players that explain their actions with thought processes. Emulate them until you understand them.
