In response to "Promos need to go" thread

I would be fine with promos if it wasn't for the MMR mechanic that places people in promos with people 150-200 MMR below them and are known to have toxicity/leave issues.

Riot does this because apparently your supposed to be able to "carry" these people if you are the rank above you, but we all know that that just isn't true.

The current "troll promos" need to go, and you should just have to win 2/3 or 3/5 games with people of your own MMR. Or even make it so that you play with people who are the average MMR of the league above you so you can see if you can actually play a game with them or do you just get squashed.

My opinion is that you should always play with people in the same division/Tier as you, mmr shouldn't exist, at least for promos.

If I'm winning more than i lose at silver 1 against other silver 1s, i should move up to gold 5. If I'm losing more than i win, i should move down to silver 2.

How anyone came up with the idea that being unable to win 3/5 against gold 2s to get in to gold 5 when you're in silver 1 at gold 2 mmr means you should have to stay in silver 1 is beyond me...

I'm all for a secret mmr that determines if you should get demoted a Tier, or if you should be moved up more quickly. Making you play people above /below your division to progress in your division is messed up though...

Eh personally I'm in favour of removing promotions just so we can get rid of whining threads like these. Just automatically promote or demote people if they're ready to move up or down and notify them when it happens. Maybe scale the LP such that you get promoted as soon as you reach 100 (but make it so that you have to win more games to get 100 LP).
