I am avoiding rankeds until next week

For a few reasons.

The first is that this new patch has a lot of new things, people simply aren't familiarized with the new masteries, new items, new ADC reworks, etc.

Lots of people are going ranked without even caring of creating new mastery pages, since the old ones were completely emptied.

People don't know how to deal with the new ADC reworks yet.

People don't know that now Last Whisper only affects bonus armor, so it is no longer a staple, general item anymore. It is situtional, it should only really be built against heavy armor stackers.

This week is one in that I would advise people to avoid playing ranked until they are better familiarized with everything that was introduced on this patch.

Yup, masteries is a problem, nobody watches them and i feel like i'm the only one who checked before starting a match....

I agree with this sentiment.

There's no reason to play ranked when you have to relearn a lot of different mechanics that are in the game now. Mastery pages and itemization changes in particular need to be explored a bit since the Mastery system is so different and so many items were changed or added in the new patch.

You can raise your MMR, and then have a better chance to get an higher rank or just return to your current rank on the next season provisionals.

That's how I managed to climb from silver to gold during the season 4 and then stay gold on the season 5.

Unfortunately since I am platinum now, I will not be able to get diamond and stay diamond during the next season. I can still raise my MMR so I will have an higher chance of getting diamond during the next season.
