Why is Swain so underplayed?

I swear this guy Swain has been secret OP for years.

He deals just as much damage as say, Azir (without having any skillcap requirement) , anyone that approaches him gets slowed (or snared), and he heals more then DrMundo

And he seems to dominate every game I see. Everyone focus him? He only got down to 50% and the rest of his team killed you. Ignore him? You kill his team but he kills everyone.

He's boring, and when he's super strong he's cancerous.

its probably because of the change to his q.

He doesn't deal as much damage as Azir. It's not even close

I used to play him but lately I feel like he doesn't have the kit to fight adc's late game like he used to.

It has a lot to do with how the "Meta" is formed. You see high tier players like those in the LCS make the champions look strong and then others want to play like them so they pick the same champion. People then think this is meta even if it isn't that strong. That isn't to say that those picks are weak mind you but often in solo que picking someone like Swain is a stronger choice even if he doesn't fit the comm coordinated LCS play style.

The problem with swain is he is quite immobile. I have seen him once or twice in the lcs. Betsy from Roccat in the EU lcs has played it a couple times. Pretty good champ in solo queue, weaker in lcs.
