League now feels like some arrogant French dinner creation with way too much shit piled on top of it
I just read about the plants Riot plans on adding to the game, and all that makes me think is that this company has largely thrown out the opinion of the boards to see what we have to say. If I think of Riot games as a Chef, what I see is some egomaniacal madman cooking up a PERFECTLY cooked steak, then covering it in Cocktail Sauce, chocolate, baby carrots, then opening a can of Budeweiser and sitting it on top. All the while, saying any and all negative reviews of his dish are just "A vocal minority."
Wanna know how many times I've seen any post reach 600 upvotes on this forum? Almost never, maybe twice total. And one of them is the top comment on the Dev Section saying STOP THESE FUCKING PLANTS WHAT ARE YOU DOING. (Just to fit my metaphor, WHY IS THERE A BEER CAN ON MY STEAK??)
Wanna know how many times I've thought "Hey, League is great but the champions and maps don't have enough minigames." Not a single time.
It's too much. TOO. MUCH. Know what would have honestly made me more excited for Season 7 than more arbitrarily spawning minigames that just make snowballing even worse? Getting rid of the free piles of stats known as keystone masteries and reverting some more of these absolutely underwhelming reworks. (I'm looking at you,

.)
For me at least, complicating this game further really does nothing for the entry level players to enjoy it since it just adds to the frustration of not knowing what the hellis going on, and the seasoned vets just kinda deal with whatever shit you throw on top but are pretty reliably vocal about it, but you just don't hear it. Do you still honestly believe people are happier with the game not being able to buy Green Wards?
The most important points in fine Italian cooking are ingredient quality, freshness, and simplicity. I still remember when League was a home-cooked Italian dinner, straight from Papa Merrill's oven. I know League will NEVER be as basic and simplistic as it used to be, but isn't it time we recapture some of that essence and bring it back? I want to taste the Steak. I want the tenderness of the Steak. Just give me the damn Steak.
