Ranked is generally harder than norms for a number of reasons. People in norms are usually trying new champions, or at least not playing their best, and kind of like to just fuck around and not try as hard. In ranked, however, the mindset is completely different. People are playing their best champs, they are doing everything with a purpose, and they usually know how to play against a number of champions very efficiently, especially Udyr. People hate Udyr due to his strong early, mid, and late game. He is a tanky fighter who can 100-0 someones health bar in the matter of seconds, so people prepare a game plan to specifically shut you down so you are next to useless.
The same happens a lot with Akali, Yasuo, Zed, really any adc, and a few other champions that can easily solo carry a game. That's why I play champions that people arent as used to, such as Ekko, Fiora, Sejuani, Shyvana, etc. just for the fact that people don't see me as big of a threat as another champion because they don't play against my champion very much. And by the time they realize that my champ is strong as hell, it's far too late to do anything about because the champions I play are very "snowbally" and people don't totally realize it.
Udyr is a very strong pick and if you can do well with him in ranked it's basically freelo. Don't give up on playing Udyr just because you arent dping well in ranked. Youll get there, but practice makes perfect.
