Fire Ghostcrawler or League will suffer the same fate as WoW PvP

Pretty much every League player must've noticed how a lot of the more recent reworks and adjustments have not been up to par with Riot's past work. Why's that I always ask myself. Frankly, I believe it has everything to do with GC.

I do have to wonder WHY Riot would hire someone who, to a large extent, was/is responsable for WoW's decline. The guy single handedly killed off what was once an amazing game. Despite what Blizzard and fanboys will claim (only a small percentage of the player base plays PvP) the growing popularity of WoW PvP was a huge marketing factor for WoW and directly linked to its success.

GC probably wanted to achieve a more watchable game by reducing the amount of abilities and making it easier to follow. Unfortunately, WoW was never made to be played with 2-3 buttons like it is now. WoW was stripped off complexity and situational play. Today everything is predictable and stale. People just spam their damage rotations unto each other and hope for the most crits. Zero skill involved. PvP is completely dead and Blizzard are the only ones actually hosting any real tournament for it.

**So what did GC do when everything went south? **

  • NOTHING. Nothing at all. Instead of admitting failure, he decided to continue on the same misguided path despite the player's pleads.

He will do the same to League.

For people that blame a particular person for something, I ask one question; can you describe what his job actually entails, what specific decisions he makes?

He's the lead game designer in League. Meaning he makes most of the calls even if he wants to blame his team.

In WoW he was the lead system designer, meaning he worked with classes etc. GC joined Blizz in 2008 which was the year WoTLK launched. It was the last great expansion in WoW. At the end of it you could start to see GC's influence - he started casualizing and dumbing down the game. It was the beginning of the end. Then he left Blizz (or got fired, idk) when he realized he had to abandon the sinking ship.

My point is: what makes this guy qualified to be a lead game designer when he basically steered WoW to its death?

Trust me bruw - the worst is yet to come. I don't even want to think about the imbalance these talents will bring.
