No, his Q is basically a Maokai W except it has an active part. Maoki's W roots you, and Maokai automatically goes towards the rooted target and on top of them. With ivern, you don't automatically have to go unless you click the root, or whatever, but basically the same as a maoki W.

but why does it say "Allies can click on rooted enemies to dash into attack range."

Because it says that, and it's in the game XD.

I'm just saying it's a Maokai type of skill, but yes, allies can take advantage of it I suppose. Shrugs. Doesn't seem anything like a Thresh ability.

i proably would of liken it more to maokai but i forgot he existed for awhile

I think he is saying it can pull allies to an enemy instead of to another ally.

Jacknife1 votes

Eh, it's not that big a deal. I can already imagine scenarios where allies fuck up by dashing in when they shouldn't.

He can also give his allies a Sion burst shield.

Wat That's so coool

So how will this ability work with ADCS?

They click on the enemy to auto them and they go flying into the enemy's face?

Jacknife1 votes

Only as far as max attack range. Melee's will go flying in, ranged allies will jump to the maximum amount of units away to still attack. Although that begs the question of how far away can an ally be to fly in...

Ah, okay. That makes sense then, thanks for clearing that up for me.

It is basically a worse Thresh Q since it doesn't stun, and doesn't pull to the team

Did anyone actually read the skill description? Anyone?

"Allies who use a basic attack on the rooted target will automatically dash to get within attack range."

So you have to use a basic attack on the target. To get within basic attack range. This is NOT particularly gamebreaking, at most it helps if the enemy flashed away while your AA particle was en route, or used some other mobility spell. It's really not that great; TBH I feel like it was a TINY boost to make the ability not a shitty knock-off of Zyra's root.

GaleWinUnleashed2 votes

No, it just means right-click the enemy to jump to attack range. It's the same as saying "attack the lantern to use it".

Sightless661 votes

What that means is you use a right click to jump into basic attack range. You do not have to be in basic attack range to get the junp. You can see this in the skill video. Ivern jumps to melee range from over 500 units away.
