High-Elo Strategies Not Working in Low-Elo

So I just had a game where I was the ADC and there was a midgame teamfight breaking out near red side's blue buff. I had to defend blue side's inner turret, so I pinged danger and typed in chat, "Don't fight, I'm not there". They ended up fighting and it was a 0 for 4 trade, which resulted in us surrendering. I know for a fact that if I didn't defend bot, we would've lost the turret. The fight wasn't over an objective, so the correct decision was to not fight and push out lanes. That didn't happen, and so we lost. Does this mean that the right thing to do in a high-elo game isn't necessarily the right thing to do in a low-elo game? I've noticed this before with pushing out waves as a jungler; almost all high-elo games that I watch involve the jungler and laner pushing the wave under turret after a successful gank. When I try to do this, I get yelled at for taxing.

Basically, how do I know when to modify my idea of what the proper thing to do is so I can win more of my low-elo games?

This is what 'elo hell', in my mind, truly is. There are a number of players in bronze, silver, gold, etc, that know the right thing to do and when to do it.

They'll even communicate it.

The team will do something else anyway.

"Finish inhib then run...don't overstay...yi almost up"...(spoiler: they don't run)....QUADRAKILL

The 1-4 mid: "Baron!" Me: "Don't baron, no vision on anyone, they're all up, I'm not there"....(spoiler: they start baron anyway. Enemy team shows up.) ALLY HAS BEEN SLAIN...ALLY HAS BEEN SLAIN...ALLY HAS BEEN SLAIN....(enemy team has slain Baron Nashor!) Mid: "WTF TOP WHY WEREN'T YOU WITH US"

Me on Wukong: "My ult is up in 20s, don't engage until I go in" (Enemy Thresh misses hook on ADC, hits our Braum...My team takes this as the signal to all in, we get wiped in 20 seconds) Mid, seconds after the fight is over: "Wtf this wukong didn't even use his ult, I can even see that it's up...".

Me to 1-9 Vayne who's overextending. I ping to be careful/fall back. Vayne "Stfu with pings" Me: "You're all alone and overextended, drop some wards, no vision on Khazix" Vayne: "F U noob, I need farm, you do you and I'll do--" AN ALLY HAS BEEN SLAIN

(we win a teamfight, they have 3 down and two are backing) Me: "Push mid, take second tier tower", Mid: "Baron!" Me: "We're barely alive and our jungler's dead, so we don't have smite, the Baron will kill us, take the tower and fall back" "STFU noob get baron and then take tower" EXECUTED.....EXECUTED...EXECUTED... (didn't do 10% of Baron's health before dying) Mid: "Wtf Wukong mid trying to take tower when I said Baron"

Other team "lol" "lol" "lol wtf". Mid: "This Wukong, plz report"

Me: "They're stronger than us right now, their bot is fed, and Yasuo has three levels on all of us, play safe, farm, stay near towers, don't engage until we can (TRIPLE KILL)...get...caught up..." Mid: "this Wukong is farming top lane while we're all dying...gg...report wu"

So...now you know.

If you wanna win low elo games learn to think like how a new player would think. It's totally a good idea to contest dragon when half my team is dead. The jungler is just a glorified support who only exists to babysit me and be everywhere at all times. I'm always right and everybody else is wrong. I deserve all the kills, cs, buffs, and objectives because I'm the main character in this anime.

Tl;dr think like a retard.

I think at some point what you're trying to do is similar to a bronze player expecting good results with leblanc. I'd throw out optimal strategies for effective ones if that makes any sense (i.e. will I get fed from this, will my team lose this fight, etc.)

my strategy dominate lane and roam and dominate everything the enemy has to offer as a player each game is a lesson get more and more mechnically good with the champion you are maining to the point you have confidence to carry every single game

in low elo ppl wont listen to your opinion best idea is keep yourself safe and find oppportinities to strike back when pushing out after succesful gank dont take the cs just stand near your mid laner and absorb his exp

so what if the jungler camps me , i dont blame my own but myself for being so careless but hey im a ryze main , if you kill me i come back 10 times stronger

watching high elo and trying it in low elo wont work you just need to adapt to the game and dont give any shiet about the rage in chat

im so tilted im dont even care what my own teams talk about me be neutral accept mistakes and misplays its all natural

Except that mentality just lost me a game, because I made the decision to go bot to defend a turret instead of grouping with the rest of the team for a fight over the enemy team's blue buff.

It's always a balancing act between knowing when a strategy is bad and doing what your team wants to do. Team morale is super important at lower elo because both teams make so many mistakes that games can simply come down to which team loses the ability to work together first. Getting low-elo players on board with the same strategy can be a bit like herding cats. It isn't until high silver from my experiences that it seems like my teams more commonly are actually capable of supporting split pushers, for example. This is why a lot of people recommend playing pubstomping hypercarries if your tactical/mechanical skills are good enough to largely ignore the strategy issue.

I think you just need to be flexible. Push very hard for your team to seek what you think are better goals, but be ready to do less brilliant plays with your team if you see them collapsing that way. Being active in tactical pinging and suggestions can smooth your progress (if you are actually a capable strategist, of course). People won't listen to you half the time, but every once and a while it'll make the difference between a lost game and a won one. By the same note, being quick to put a voice in for supporting a teammate with a decent plan creates a cascade of team cooperation.
