Anyone else think maybe he has a few too many hard counters?

Ahri Akali Diana Ekko Elise Fiora Fizz Gnar Hecarim Irelia JarvanIV Jax Katarina Khazix Leblanc Leona Lissandra Malphite Maokai MasterYi Nocturne Olaf Pantheon RekSai Renekton Rengar Riven Sejuani Shaco Talon Trundle Tryndamere Vi MonkeyKing Yasuo Zac Zed

I dont think I can ban them away... If I want to play him, I pretty much have to have last pick, and then they can't have 2 or more of these champs... OR I have to have 3 allies who can engage/peel.

There are others that do well against him too. These are just the ones that hurt him most I think. Others that have a slight upper hand is probably just as big a list. :/

I dunno. I love this champ, but I really don't feel the reward for playing him outside of "hes fun". Aside from all the hard counters, I have mana issues in prolonged fights without blue buff and a fully stacked RoA. My stars turn off if I get cc'd at all, I can't hide in bushes (although I admit that is kind of fun/thematic), I lose my E if I take damage, my only self peel is my ult.

<3 Aurelion Sol. Wish he was more Viable.

Over hyped awkward sunfire cape champion. nothing more. just garbage champ. like i feel sad in the bottom of my gut when i die to him.

Depending on who you are playing as, I might feel the same.

The hype was definitely bigger than the champion could ever be. Still, I would not call him a "garbage" champ. Just overly "niche". Its only smart to pick him if your team and the enemy team are just right for him.

For the record: I said "more" viable... I think he is Viable, but only in VERY specific circumstances.

The biggest problem is that aside from those 2 points, he is VERY team reliant to be successful. He can deal a TON of damage if he is left alone to do so... problem is, especially in solo queue, your team needs to be coordinated enough to protect the dragon.

Yeah, i agree to some degree. Aurelion is the closest thing i have to a main, and i cannot for the life of me do anything against Fizz, Yasuo and LeBlanc. Most of those those other champs are usually 50/50 when i fight them though.

Hes my highest mastery champ atm. So here is my only tip for ya:

Against lanes that destroy you (and even most other lanes as well) just push wave fast and back off. Either wait for next wave or roam. Roaming is the one strength this guy has going for him atm. You can literally gank from anywhere.

Yeah, thats what i love. If im losing lane i can just take a quick trip to bot lane, get a kill or two, and even it out.

Aurelion is a weird type of champion, he has many counters, but is seriously OP towards anyone that he doesn't get countered by. He's also boring, just pointing that out, maybe the most boring Mage.

how many champions does he "not get countered by" that he is "seriously op against"? I have had some really good games as him, got mastery 7 very quickly, but it was always because I had the team comp for him and the enemy team wasn't playing any kind of dive composition.

I only really think he has too many trade offs for how easy it is to shut him down/ how hard it is to pick him intelligently.

Boring is really an opinion and thats fine you think so. I find his playstyle fun, and a bit challenging. Hitting his Q is not exactly easy, and positioning is very technical.

When I play him I either get really fed or just kinda...be in game. I either make an impact or I don't.

Once you really practice you learn how to avoid counters and engages and such, but still...no champ should have THIS many counters.

Playing him is like walking on eggshells. 1 wrong move and you burn everything you have or die. He is very very risky but if you do well he is rewarding
