I think I've heard casters refer to TF as global ult, and Galio has the same range. Maybe they are short hand, but 4000-5500 is pretty darn far. :)

Well, they could make it global in the sense that it knocks every enemy up. He just slams the ground, and up everyone goes.

"R: Epicenter" Malphite does the DK bash against the ground, causing an earthqauke centered on himself and creating a shockwave that travels outwards. Units caught in the center take 100% damage and are knocked up for 2 seconds, decreasing by 1% per 10 units depending on how close they are to the start of the shockwave. the shockwave travels fountain to fountain, knocking enemies up for 0.25 seconds.
