Why does Irelia's E Have an 8 Sec CD at all Ranks?

Especially nowitem 3078 gives 20% CDR, I'm seeing a lot ofIrelia opt for maxing E last...Which has NEVER been the case (E has always been maxed first or second).

Honestly, she's far too sticky with her E having as low CD as it does at all ranks. It really should be something like:

12/11/10/9/8 seconds at ranks 1/2/3/4/5

  • Which has NEVER been the case (E has always been maxed first or second).

E used to be maxed first in specific match-ups (i.e. Riven) and had its base damage reduced due to this.

W is generally maxed first since it is her best ability for damage, sustain and last-hitting.

Generally, which ability you max second will be dependent on the match-up and what you want to do.

  • You generally max E second if you expect to be dueling or locking down a target (i.e. against Jax, Riven, Trundle, etc).
  • You generally max Q second if you need to stick to a target (i.e. against Kennen, Quinn, Jayce, Kayle, etc).

This is nothing new.

I'm saying the current max E last strategy has never been the case. Learn to read in context please...

As I said, Irelia could and would max E last in certain match-ups. This is not a new development.

In ranged match-ups (i.e. Jayce, Kayle, etc), Irelia often valued the ability to jump on a target and stick to them more than she did the ability to lock them down (especially if they were able to disengage).

In these match-ups, the reduced cooldown on Q would be more valuable than the increased CC duration on E.

Oh I see what you meant. Max W first, then max E or Q second depending on situation, which would imply E is maxed last if Q is maxed second. My fault.

But my point still stands that maxing E last is a recent development.
