Why can't we have more assassins like Diana and Nidalee?

Pretty much every assassin in this game is stealth+high burst on point and click abilities. No mechanical skill needed to play them. All you have to do is get close to someone, point and click, and they die. On the other hand, we have champions like Nidalee and Diana, who have no stealth, and they actually have to land a skillshot in order to have any meaningful burst. So they have counterplay, and they are rewarding to play. When you get a kill, you EARNED that kill. You lander a skillshot, so you deserve to burst them. With other assassins you're just cheesing people constantly, and it's stupid.

I'm with you on this. I actually admire the good Diana & Nidalee players because they gotta work and think for what they're doing to be successful at those two champs. But then... If those ADCs with slithering mobility like Vayne or Lucian then the other assassins are more popular cus they got higher successful chance to eliminate those. Mobility always favor what's in-meta.

Actually lucian or vayne aren't that of a problem for diana, because they have a pretty short range and they often get hit by your q mid-dash, especially if you cancer their dash you your e. The most cancerous adc for diana is ezreal, because he will be always out of you range, his slow ensures that you can't get close enough and if you are close enough its almost impossible to hit your q if he still has his e.

I'd say champs like Shaco Rengar have a higher learning curve despite fitting with your description. Especially Shaco

Rengar has a 10% difference in win rate between inexperienced and experienced players, which is the same as Shaco. He may seem like a "ez one-shot" champion, but you have to consider that the one-shot combo takes a bit of practice for it to be consistent, and he has no real escape once he jumps in.

I think the reverse is true actually. They are both able to cheese you with their burst if they catch you, but once Rengar jumps in, he has no escape (unless he doesn't use his ult to engage). But even if Rengar's ult is up after he jumps in, it take a few seconds for him to actually become stealthed, giving you some time to CC him before it happens. And unlike Shaco, you now have that little indicator that tells you when Rengar is near you. On the other hand, Shaco can become untargettable with hallucinate and use it to dodge abilities. With Shaco all you have to do is have your clone block abilities for you, so it's not like he's completely defenseless after he attacks you. And if he doesn't use hallucinate to engage (which he doesn't even need to do a lot of the time) he can use it to escape (and jump over walls with it). And if all else fails he can just place a fear box (or walk to one that's already up). The amount of safety in Shaco's kit compared to Rengar is just insane. And Shaco's slow isn't a skillshot, unlike Rengar's. So, due to all this safety and reliability, Shaco's learning curve is significantly lower than Rengar's.

I'm just speaking from experience. Learning Rengar was not easy, but I managed to do it and can play him reasonably well. I still struggle a lot with Shaco. He doesn't have crazy mechanics, but I've always found it hard to manage my clone while I gank and put down boxes strategically.
