Hi there, Diana main from Germany here, so sorry for grammar mistakes.
I like Ekko very much, because he feels so much like Diana. But his actual kit makes him so much better right now( or maybe for my playstyle as a gold-scrup).
Ekko is like a great mix between Diana and Gnar (Passiv and Q stacks-mechanic).
He is equipped with a ''wannabe'' Diana Ult-dash pre 6 (his E) and have a better (zoned) shield with the possibilty to stun people (W).
My 50 cent
Diana:
pro:
- her Q reveals champs in bushes
- possible to farm and instashield against little to moderate damage in fight at will ( W-sphere explode)
- can inflight heavy damge with Q-R-W-(E)-R Combo to Shutdown most of her targets ( Carries and other squishies) or atleast let your opponent waste his flash
- AOE passive that can be used to waveclear in lategame/ with enough Ap
- her passive can be ''stacked'' 2 times on everything she she can hit (minions, champs, jungle creeps and turrets) and then apply it on her maintarget
con:
- her killpotential depends (most of the time) on her Ult/Lvl6
- no real cc besides her E drag/slow
- her passive aa-prog can easily be cancelled by stuns in teamfights
- after her ult, she starts her slow aa-animation that can be interrupted (unless she has a bit mor atk-speed)
Ekko:
pro:
- 40-80% Slow on 3rd aa/passive prog on Champions and gains a movementspeed-buff himself (wtf Riot?)
- Q applying 1-2 stacks of his passive over wide range / great farmtool if needed
- W can shield you and can possible stun your target/ can fool him into panicflashes and CAN force him to dodge your W-Sphere
- E allows you to maybe dodge a skillshot or other possible threads ( like Lucian's E)
- can smackdown people with a good Q-E ''wannabe'' Diana combo with sheen/lichbane-prog, because its an insta-aa
con:
- his killpotential is more predictable then DIanas killkombo ( Q-R-W-(E)-R-ignite), because he has to setup about 3 seconds before he has his cc. Good luck to play your game against Ahri/Leblanc in lane.
- Q almost as ''slow'' as Oriannas ball in terms of dodging
both:
- depend on a setup to gain their full potential, which makes them predictable most of the time
defacto (for me) Ekko have a more skilled kit that depends on a player who knows how to chain his abilities in different ways to get what he wants to get done. But i feel sorry for all the Diana players (like me) who are a bit pissed because Ekko is a Diana 2.0 right now.
feel free to correct me and give me your side of view about my struggle with Ekko and Diana.
regards
Corvus
