Then why isn't she played a lot? She needs some love riot.
Give us mage lovers at least one viable mage champion that we can play against 
and not feed.

She literally has a new passive in the works right now, keep up.
pretty much any champion in the game with a cloth armor start, shits on zed. assassins are countered by resistances. Or nothing, it depends on how boosted the enemy players are.

But it's probably because a decent Zed will get all his CS and escape whenever you try to kill him. Then he will roam and find somebody more boosted than you to kill.
She lack the burst to kill a champ and once her R is down she is an easy prey due to the deay on her E.
She can play safe and deal with sins but can't pressure them and a farmed sins will just buy 
or 
and kill her anycase.
Lots of ppl on PBE are picking her to counter the new 
but she lose every trade, expecially since all Akali need to do is hit an E to destroy 1/3 of Liss HP bar
