Getting an S is more than just a matter of snowballing.

I get an S- or greater almost every game I play as Vlad.

You have to be above average in all aspects.

Gold, CS, K/A, deaths, damage taken/damage given, healing, etc.

Notice how most people that think they should have gotten an S in whatever game they have a decent KDA in have pretty low CS, or something else that's astonishingly low.

Getting an S is not confusing. Using your lead properly will get you an S. Trying to snowball on kills will not.

getting it is just a matter of farming

i literally saw a screenshot of s- on 2/1/0 tryndamere with a good farm

silly as it sounds but it is like that

even supports get it easier with farming

p.s. i would gladly prefer to have a 10/2/0 trynd with a lower farm on my team

I've had low farm and gotten an S. Farm is a big factor, but its far from the primary aspect.

Otherwise, anyone who bought relic shield would be getting an S every game as support.

Getting an S is just a matter of gold earned relative to time played.

I don't know the current statistic but it used to be ~14cs = 1 kill so if you do not want to farm you need about a ~1 or more kill a minute to get S rank for non supports.

Supports on the other hand have a lower average gold/5 so they require less.

And yet I saw someone with 9k gold at 30 minutes get an S, despite average gold generally being much higher at that time.

Kills are generally more important than farm, considering an equal or even slightly lower gold, because kills put your enemy behind and farm does not.

Too bad zoning doesn't get involved in the calculations for ranking (i.e., lane opponent has shit cs since u zoned them)

Thats strange, was he playing a champion usually played in the support role or an unpopular champion such resulting in the average gold for that champion to be lower compared to every other champion.

He was playing support Alistar, and that's still extremely low gold at 30 minutes.

Yea its quite common that supports have low gold at 30 minutes in. Lolking's statistics on Alistar says that on average he only generates 9,402k gold in all ranked games.

Which means his gold was not above average, thus invalidating the "its based on gold" claims, especially since average match length is sub 30 mins.

Its based around all aspects of play. People just don't want to admit that they didn't do as well as they thought they were doing. IMO, it means you have somewhere to look to improve.

Even when you win, you should be looking for what you could have done better. Mastery rating makes that easy in some cases.

Its not based on the average gold of every champion but the champion he was playing, Alistar. I assume he generated above the average gold of an average alistar compared to an average yasuo player.

Every aspect of play results in gold such as; cs, kills, assists, towers, dragons, barons while things such as deaths result in negative potential gold (you lose 30 seconds of making more gold effectively resulting in lower gold/5)

Edit: strange phrasing sorry English isn't my native language.

Yeah, Alistar had lower than average gold, relative to other Alistar games, and it was in a longer than average game.

DW about strange phrasing. I didn't notice anything, and its better than many of the native speakers. lol

Thanks haha!

Hmmm that's strange i guess ill just have experience it for myself.

See you on the rift summoner!
