"Assassins are weak" yet I am losing lane to them more than ever

I feel like anyone who takes Electrocute just flashes on me destroys me lvl 2 or lvl 3 with ignite and there is nothing I can do about it. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Can anyone help me, I am a fucking plat/dia player who can't seem to stop feeding on every single mage in the game (except Malza) when facing electro assassins and its frustrating me a lot, I literally have headaches and high blood pressure from playing atm... Anyone got any tips because I sure as hell don't feel like there is anything I can do when electro alone deals 25-30% of my hp early game and has similar cooldown as comet which does nothing compared to that... Should I start taking electro on any non-poke mage? What do I take on Ori to survive this shit? I am generally clueless on how to win both lane and game in general this season, it really feels like winning is RNG and not even forced to 50% any more, its down to like 30-40% on all my accounts which as I said is literally causing me health problems...

Assassins aren't weak, their targets are just becoming ridiculously harder and harder to kill.

DoktorKaiser, do not worry. Your consciousness has eclipsed the disappointment. Calm down and find the right way. Try not to play a day or two and everything will be fine, everything will improve.

Depends on the assassin himself.

Fizz is weak but someone like katarina is pretty broken.

You just have to watch out for the lvl 2, for some reason riot thought it was a good idea to make previously bad laners into lvl 2 100-0 snowball machines (on kat and talon case).

I mean you're a lot better than me, so make of this what you will, but...

Against difficult, aggressive matchups mid I just try to shove out the lane level 1 (to prevent a level 2 all-in) and then hide and give up farm until like levels 5-7....if you completely surrender lane priority and forsake most of your farm, it's hard for them to get the snowball rolling in time to matter in teamfights/skirmishes when everyone starts rotating.

Edit: also, I feel like barrier is severely underrated right now. It won't fix mistake, but it makes it much easier to punish over aggression.

I think it's more like ADC assassins are doing their job well, and ADC's are also doing their job well. However, when it comes to Mages vs assassins it's one-sides towards the ADC assassins+fizz. Also both Mages and assassins also have even more issues with the tanks nowadays. I think all of this combined is the overall issue.

It's not worth playing mages in this meta besides Brand and Veigar. Everyone else is weak as shit.

I mean, have you tried using your own Flash...? Like, if someone flashed on me, I'd usually be prepared to use my own Flash as well. Also, have you tried taking summoner 3 summoner 21 summoner 7 ?

Also also, giving up XP and farm is something that you'll always have to do in this game. I started this game playing melee assassins mid and never really played anything else until I began my retirement in ARAM, so I'm legit used to being pushed away from the wave already, lol. And I can say from experience that back when I had old Talon I've killed SOOOOO many plat/diamond players unwilling to forfeit a cannon creep...

assasins are burst, when they get to burst you multiple times in laning phase (plus their mobility to get up in your face) you should be complaining because of the fact that the only person in the game they can kill is you, and the adc who is hopefully not that fed any adc that is 3/0 and upwards, is considered unkillable for an assassin.

My two cents would be that you aren't respecting their damage enough, and putting yourself into a bad spot to begin with. Poke them down, use trade stance properly, and set your runes accordingly. Fighting a katarina? Get nullifying orb, fighting a zed? Second Wind and Iron Skin will be your friend. It isn't flashy, but stopping a snowbally assassin from starting their snowball is worth taking different runes for.
