afking in ranked specifically needs much harsher punishment

we all know how shit it is to lose off of an afk in ranked and how much it sucks that theres no real non exploit-able solution to you losing that lp or having it affected in any way but theres always the other option

instead of giving us compensation, punish the afker much harder than us so we at least get a sense of justice for example an idea ive always had around for it is this: afking for more than 8 mins resulting in a loss for your team gathers all of the lp your team lost and dumps that same combined lp loss on to the afks lp loss for the match. basically if you dc and lose your entire team the game then you should be held responsible for that loss and take a significantly larger loss than them IE you afk say half way through the game and the enemy turns around and wins off of it, you would receive your personal lp loss lets say -18, but then since you were the reason they had to lose into a 4v5 you get your mids -19 lp and tops -16 lp and so on added on to your base -18 lp loss, your team still does lose the same lp they would now but at least they would know the person responsible for that loss got way more lp loss than everyone else kind of like an eye for an eye

then theres an idea ive heard around that i think is an amazing one: ranked queue bans. essentially having afking result in a 1-2 week ban from specifically ranked queues. ofc i wouldnt ever want a perma queue ban but a base 1-2 week ranked queue ban on afk by the leaver buster would be a very good way to weed out people that shouldnt even be queuing for anything other than norms in the first place like people with dodgy internet that dcs frequently, rage quitters, smurfs that switch to alts in matches that are going badly etc.

now these are just ideas that obviously arent perfect, but something needs to be done so the amount of people leaving in ranked goes down because a slap on the wrist 5 min leaver buster is nothing and its definitely not fair to the teammates that lost off of the afk who barely gets punished the amount of "my computer died" excuses ive seen in game is getting ridiculous and so are the "sry my internets bad" excuses, things like these need harsh punishments to better the ranked environment and deter these kinds of people from queueing till they fix their shit

The problems with all your ideas is that they are dealing in extremes. If my internet goes down and I have not ever AFK'd or it's been a while since I have then I should not get LP curb stomped for it. I think a history of abuse is the right way to ban people.

While the current system is not perfect if we go with your medieval form of punishing people, for a single bout of frustration or bad luck in connectivity, then we are not really addressing the real problem players. Thus, we are punishing everyone to the extremes for what could be a single case of problematic behavior or otherwise.

I agree, but in a way that is not super aggressive with people who have a specific problem.

I just played some games on NA today, first time since preseason that I spent more than 1 game worth of time playing in NA. Trust me when I tell you, you have it great on NA. I've playing playing on the LAN server and let me tell you. AFKs over here is out of control. 9 out of 10 games on LAN will have an AFK on one team or the other, this includes ranked games too. You see an AFK on NA like 1 in 20 games. Be appreciative of that.
