When will the AD > AP imbalance ever be fixed?

AD champions have dominated mid and top lane ever since the introduction of Zed years ago and their advantage increases with every patch that sees AD items get buffed item 3156 item 3026 and AP items get nerfed item 3116 item 3040 item 3092

Mage doing well in mid? NERF, you can go play support now Annie Brand Zyra Malzahar oops Malzahar cant even do that now either

We all know Riots favorites Zed Yasuo LeeSin

Zed isn't even that good -> item 3157 item 3047

I agree about Zed.

When we talk about AD overall though: item 3155 (Maw is fine, that piece of shit is not), item 3026

When we talk about AD overall though: item 3155

literally just a item 1028 that is ignored by Physical damage.

So you can identify and list AP champions? Good for you?

What do all those mages have in common that zed doesn't?

Hard cc. Zed has a joke of a slow. Yasuo has to earn his predictable tornados, Lee has a slow and his ult kick. But annie has 3 ways to apply a stun. Brand has a stun. Zyra has a stun and a big ass knock up. Malzahar is a joke, but still has a silence and a suppression.
Not to mention all the aoe damage they do. Zed gets reduced damage to multiple targets hit. Yasuo only has q with a narrow ranage. Lee does like 100 damage in a small area around him.

But have you thought of this: Zed- Can dodge almost all CC by ulting or using W which may result in him getting a kill. Yasuo- Has seemingly unlimited dashes that allow you to stick on top of your enemy when you use your tornado. Lee- Ridiculous mobility and damage, especially on his ult with 200% bonus AD.

Annie- Probably the one true counter to every assassin, but falls short when fighting other mages due to her short range. Brand- Stun takes time to set up and relies on landing a Q which is impossible when every assassin can dash, blink, or leap all over the place or kill him before he even has time to react. Zyra- Another good counter but her one weakness IS being dived and all-in-ed; she struggles because her knockup is a teamfight tool, not a "save me from assassins" tool as it takes 2 seconds to actually trigger.

AoE damage doesn't mean anything when it's an AD assassin/bruiser locking down one or two targets.

It will not be, because player and dev bias. It's that simple.

I mean, just look at how uneasy they feel when it comes to their attention that a champion doesn't get use out of every aspect of their kit when they build what should be their "primary" build. Malzahar

Riot & Plebs: OH NO! HE ONLY GOT 4 MOVES, THIS CAN'T BE ALLOWED! IT'S VITAL THAT WE MAKE THE VOIDLINGS DO SOMETHING IN HIS AP BUILD.

Everyone else: no it isn't...

Riot & Plebs: BUT LOOK AT ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT THEY HAVE! WE CAN FIX THAT IF WE JUST ADD MORE TO THEIR UTILITY BELT. WE WILL MAKE THE REST OF THEIR MECHANICS CONVOLUTED SO THAT THEY ARE LESS CONSISTENT AND REQUIRE "skill...." TO USE WELL. Everyone else: [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Literally had a conversation earlier with a guy who said

moving it to a basic ability was incredibly vital to making them worth a shit outside of AD malzahar gimmicks.

yet, he could never explain why it was so important to make them "worth a shit outside of AD malzahar"... After all, this exact same statement can be made applicable to a range of other champions.

doing X to it was incredibly vital to making it worth a shit outside of AP Nasus gimmicks.

doing X to it was incredibly vital to making it worth a shit outside of AP Varus gimmicks.

doing X to it was incredibly vital to making it worth a shit outside of AP Ezreal gimmicks.

doing X to it was incredibly vital to making it worth a shit outside of AP Volibear gimmicks.

doing X to it was incredibly vital to making it worth a shit outside of Udyr gimmicks. (Literally can't make optimal use of all 4 of his stances in a single build)

So when players are given the choice between having a full kit which scales with their stats AND auto attacks or having a full kit which scales with their stats without auto attacks. They will pick having auto attacks over not having auto attacks, even if that means the abilities are stronger, else they feel like they're is some wasted aspect of their kit.

if you think AD > AP still, i don't know what to tell you. Ive had this debate already and im tried of having it. That ship sailed months ago.

You know I disagree with the OP that AD has been stronger since the Zed release, but even a blind monkey could see the recent bias towards AD.

I mean, how in the world do you justify AD mids building Hexdrinker which negates AP burst mids and then also give them a GA.

So now you don't need to eat through that Hexdrinker shield (because who finishes Maw that early anyway when the component gives you the same passive?), you also need deal with their goddamn revive.

Riot should make GA a neutral item again or finally remove Lifeline from Hexdrinker/ get it in line with Seekers.

You mean the bias of Armor begin more plentiful and harder to mitigate? of champions having more armor than MR? Of there being More armor in itemization than MR? of AP scaling way higher and harder than AD?

I'm tired of having this argument. It's old and always devolves into the same talkign points over and over.

You have to be incredibly bias and ignorant to dismiss the blatant facts of the matter here.

You mean how AD can just play draintank and even get a second chance at it if they somehow still manage to die?

You mean how AD can just play draintank

Swain Vladimir Zac Cassiopeia Akali

Got anymore hyperbole? Because that doesn't apply to every AD champion, just as it doesn't to every AP champion.

and even get a second chance at it if they somehow still manage to die?

In contrast, APs get a literal invincibility button and a none proactive way to block a spell. that remains up perpetually.

As a mage/Ekko main I would say that the only thing AD champions have over AP ones is offensive item options. They have loads of item options. What is keeping us away from ever getting better offensive itemization is Rabadon's Deathcap. Flat, raw AP with no utility whatsoever. I look forward to the day that shit gets removed and we can get true items. I would love to have a reworked Deathfire Grasp back, its icon was dope. Also, Zed right now is pretty underpowered in my eyes, but maybe I'm wrong. From a balance point of view, Yasuo is kinda balanced, but is crazy obnoxious to play against. They aknowledged Lee as OP years ago but they said they refuse to truly nerf him because he's a poster boy.
