Honestly, I find so many people who are upset with Darius being free to play... All you need is Riven. Take this example:
Riven vs. Darius Riven player < Darius player Riven keeps getting free shots on her. Riven hides under turret. While Darius is under her turret she stuns him and attacks him, usually getting one turret attack on him. Riven uses this strategy and kills him, gets fed, carries the team.
In conclusion? Riven > Darius

BattleOxe1 votesThe thing is, it's difficult for darius to get stacks on Riven. He tries to Q, she Es in his face and chunks him down by 75% of HP. After 6, she can 100-0 if Darius didn't buy armor and health (which usually is a situation, since everyone rush phage on him)
Serevas1 votesIt depends on the Riven player really. If she's arrogant like half of the Riven's in the game are, they frequently E in for a trade, at least in my experience.
Not to mention I don't just Q at riven blindly, I typically have already pulled her in gotten some autos and hit the slow going out so it's much easier to hit the blade of Q. Darius wins that kind of skirmish due to base damages and bleed, add the heal if you caught the blade, which you shouldn't have a lot of problem doing when she's slowed and running from the trade. 5 stacks will net a kill almost every time between the bonus AD from Noxian Might, and the bleed which also benefits from the bonus AD.
Maybe I just play the match up differently from most Darius players, but I've never really had issues with Riven when playing Darius.

But these Darius's won't know how to beat the Riven at all. If you're a decent Riven player you can totally pwn.

Didn't the LCS choose Gnar as a counter to Darius? He has plenty of Kiting tools while being tanky to boot.

Ralanr1 votesMy point still stands. She's (somewhat) expensive to buy and it'd be for dealing with Darius. A lot of people would need to relearn a new champion (One that a lot of people also hate) to deal with a champion that a lot of people hate.
