I have nothing against Poro King but honestly it's always, always Poro King. Sure ascension was recent too but it seems like Riot is holding out on URF just because it's more fun. Can't it be like Overwatch and have them all available at the same time?
Zielmann1 votesBecause, yet again, they need to implement support for a lot of the modes in the new client still. Right now we have Ascension and Poro King as the options. Give them some time, and they'll have the other modes set up in the new client too, and we'll be back to having a better variety of modes to rotate between.
My guess would actually be that they're trying to get URF ready for April, so if they're working hard on that, it may explain why none of the other modes have been added yet.

Additionally, when implementing a new client, there are much, much, MUCH larger priorities than featured game modes that need to be worked on and included in the client. Things such as killing bugs, making sure everything runs smoothly, and ensuring that all the most basic functions like the Store, Profile, Hextech are operating as they should be. Additionally, Riot is currently hard at work implementing the Sandbox mode, which is something that has been BEGGED for for many years. I'd much rather have them focus on getting the Sandbox mode into full swing than worry about the next time URF will come around. Sandbox is much more beneficial to the playerbase as a whole.
