Logic behind renekton buffs?

I didn't realize renekton needed any sort of buffs, especially considering his stupid synergy with spear of shojin and his W.

He's not super broken, but why is he being prioritized for buffs? What about yorick? Illaoi? volibear? Aatrox (gutted to trash lulz)? hell even a small bone for mordekaiser? Why not just ease up on champ buffs in general and focus on nerfing champs that are too strong?

Didn't say to give him something massive, nor do I ever play yorick.

He certainly needs a buff more than renekton.

They are probably buffing Renekton so that Riven can remain virgin.

By Riot's logic, I'm guessing it's because Renekton got 0 screenplay in pro-plays.
