New Mana Item [Concept]

We have items for mana regen, items for a deep mana pool, so let's have an item that reduces mana costs!

Aquatic Egg: Recipe: Sapphire Crystal (400g) + 400g = 800g

Statistics: +200 Mana +UNIQUE Passive: +10% Cooldown Reduction +UNIQUE Passive - Quenched: Reduce Mana and Energy costs by 20%.

There will be three paths you may build into; one for mages, one for attack damage users, and one for tank users.

Aqua Phoenix Staff: Recipe: Aquatic Egg (800g) + Fiendish Codex (820g) + Blasting Wand (860g) + 120g = 2600g

Statistics: +80 Ability Power +250 Mana +UNIQUE Passive: +20% Cooldown Reduction +UNIQUE Passive - Quenched: Reduce Mana and Energy costs by 40%.

Shark Cannon: Recipe: Aquatic Egg (800g) + Pickaxe (875) + Long Sword (360g) + Long Sword (360g) + 205g = 2600g

Statistics: +50 Attack Damage +250 Mana +UNIQUE Passive: +20% Cooldown Reduction +UNIQUE Passive - Quenched: Reduce Mana and Energy costs by 40%.

Heart of Gold: (It is already a turtle shell; also it shall return as a [different] gold item) Recipe: Aquatic Egg (800g) + Chain Vest (750g) + Chain Vest (750g) + 300g = 2600g

Statistics: +100 Armor +250 Mana +20% Cooldown Reduction +Passive: Kills, Assists, and Large Monster executes grant +30 bonus gold. +UNIQUE Passive - Quenched: Reduce Mana and Energy costs by 40%.

Quick reminder, you cannot have more than one gold item at a time; this is why Heart of Gold only has the reduce costs passive as a named UNIQUE Passive because other items have the same kind of passive.

The main point to this item is basically to create more options for players to purchase and create item builds out of. Pretty much introducing more items into the game just creates more variety, which creates more customized builds and unique builds, which could then create more types of different gameplay and champions into the game. ~ Stacona

EDIT: Aquatic Egg: Reduces costs by 20% from 25%

All three upgraded items: Now grants 250 Mana down from 300 Mana

I like your concept here but I think the stats are too high. Maybe if the egg reduced costs by 10% and at full item they reduced costs by 25% I think would be more balanced.

A Lux with Full cdr and 40% reduced costs would be ulting like crazy with no worry of Mana. Support Lux could build this and just literally zone any lane without ever having to back.

An Akali at 40% would extremely strong even underfed. She wouldnt have to time her initiate at the right time or hope she doesn't miss anything. She would be able to complete 1.75 combos before energy ran out.

Nami/Sona/Raka/Annie would have so much potential for sustain and damage with even an Egg, basically almost never running out of mana, at 25% reduced costs.

I could continue to go on here about the current stats, but I think lowering your stats to what I made them would be A LOT more balanced and viable as actual items.

Lux does not have mana problems, better to get morellos because it is cheaper and you get grievous wounds- this item would only be better on champions that go oom really fast like anivia or cassiopeia, even orianna since she spams her ball attack

the item has no mana regen, so reduced costs means you get to stay in a siege or battle longer but will still go oom if you spam your spells-- the upgraded passive is as good as Clarity (it actually makes Clarity a lot strong if you have the item and clarity)

10% would reduce less than 10 mana, the item is suppose to help out high cost champions that go oom super fast normally to make it so they can stay and fight instead of having to back out because they went oom in 3 seconds, not be a dorans ring without offense or defense and costs more (non-upgraded form)

Nami uses what 100 mana for her heal right? fully upgraded the heal will be 60 mana, morellos gives 20 mana regen per 5 (4 mana per second) and i believe the heal goes down to like 8 or 7 seconds at cap cdr (40%; both items give the same ap and cdr, reduced costs cost more gold) so morellos will supply 32 Mana back by the time you get your cooldown back and this is only if you use the spell immediately off cooldown, if you wait 2 more seconds morellos (the cheaper item) equals the unique passive of reduced costs, without cap cdr then morellos is actually better and cheaper with the grievous wounds as well... I bring this up just to show you that my item is not any stronger than the alternatives, but it offers a different way to play the game to see whether you want to last longer in a fight or skirmish because your costs are lower or go for a long term fight or siege with the regen of morellos/grail --- but trying to sustain long term (without blue buff) you will eventually go oom, the item actually encourages being aggressive where as morellos and grail are items that encourage being more passive (grail's mana return passive is different tho with kills/assists) because they give mana regen so you can stay around longer since your can restore your mana back up to stay around to keep being useful with your spells

Its not mana regen that makes me worry about this item. Its all the extra mana you get, with the lower mana cost. I love the idea of an item like this and all the diversity it would bring to builds, but I'm afraid of its stats being too high.

Lux never had a real mana problem. But imagine her spamming spells because of lower costs of mana, full cdr, and increased based mana with one item. She would never need to back until she had enough for a whole new item.

Nami has 377 base mana, heal costs 70 and prison cost 60. At level two will have 420 base mana. Using that two spell combo uses 130 mana. thats 3 of that combo before you go oom. With base mana regen by that time you can cast one more spell before completely oom. Now add 200 mana and reduce that cost 33 mana each time you cast that spell. Now you have 620 mana using only 97 mana. Thats 6 combo's you can use, and with a mana potion or 2 for regen, you've just increased sustain for a good chunk of time. Normally for me (I main support) I cna have 800 gold a few minutes into laning phase. Getting this item by even 10 minutes would increase my gold income from being able to poke for days with heal or bubble immensely. That doesnt even go into the 40% reduce cost and 300 mana.

I really love your idea but I think the numbers should be lowered a little. Even 15% and then 25-30% would be decent with an extra 200 mana and 300 mana. I love the idea of helping out Mana hungry champions, but think about the ones who aren't and could extremely benefit from something like this. Certain champions could make this item so broken, or vise versa at current stats.

it is stat equal, stat efficient with the passive

the thing is nami would still buy morellos because she is not mana hungry and morellos gives the regen that she needs, the item is cheaper, has more stats, and grievous wounds-- or nami can get chalice bell for the support active, mana regen, mr, and cdr and is also cheaper- sona same thing--- the items cost the same as grail--- think about there are 4 items that grant mana sustain, morellos, grail, phoenix, archangel/seraphs (grail does need buffs right now) i set it up so that these items are not stronger than any of these; while the ad path be between shark and manamune (and kind of essence reaver); and the tank path is a stand alone item since nothing else is big on mana sustain unless you want to count FH and RoA

800 gold is sightstone, you want sightstone over a mana sustain item-- i am not worried for this item on champions like nami since nami does not oom easily, orianna can oom quickly, anivia, swain, cassiopeia- these are the champions who really want this item to greatly slow down their mana consumption while champions who do not struggle on mana would just get an alternative cause it is better for them-- i will shave off some mana from the upgraded items [200 mana is sapphire crystal]

your worries are not so much needed especially since the items are balanced to their 'equivalents', they will offer different playstyles based on the item of choice--- long term fighting mana regen is much better , while short term fighting Quenched passive will be better

I like the stats now a bit more, and I think how it would come into play would be more balanced. Hope to see something like this come into effect.

I would like to see more items come into play from Riot because it will make the game more interesting and allow for new content every patch, and items work in a way that no matter how many there are it will not be overwhelming even for new players because the only thing new players need to learn is the stats and how they interact with game and their champion and their abilities while providing freshness to the game in multiple ways for veterans and the like---

for my concept items specifically would greatly aid in champions that do not see much play now to see the light of day like anivia, swain, cassiopeia, even kennen and shen as well (zed would also like the item but i dont know how good it would be on him because the item is not a very good assassin item and would set him behind)

Energy? do they really need it? Except Shen maybe... Other than shen's 100 energy dash, all energy users have an advantage

I just kind of wanted it to be like blue buff where it affects mana and energy champions and give another option for energy to purchase for their item builds, if it does end up becoming a strong item for energy champions late game it might make certain energy champions that are not played now get played because of this item - but pretty much it is an item reducing the costs of champions that actually use a resource- but mainly only mana champion will get the item because it is not like energy champions need the item it is just there to add options for them and that is it
