Game client should alert you if you are banning a teammate's pick intent

No idea why this feature isn't in the game already. If you're banning another teammate's champion, the client should popup with a simple yes/no "A teammate has pick intnted XXX. Are you sure you want to ban XXX?". Also extend the time allowed to ban for 5 seconds the first time that alert pops up in case somebody needs to panic ban.

People who ban an allies intent-pick aren't going to care. They know exactly what they're doing most of the time.

Good idea but the extension may be a problem. Since the enemy sees what champ you're hovering to ban an extra 5 seconds would let them know what champ you have on your team. It could also work so someone on your team hovers yasuo who isn't gonna play him. You hover ban yasuo then decline and ban teemo. The enemy will now think you have a yasuo on your team when you don't and they will ban him. If the 5 sec rule could be fixed up or removed it is a perfect idea in my opinion.

I get pretty suspicious when the banner of my champion responds that they weren't paying attention, when I ask whether they banned my champion on purpose.

I agree, there should be a popup, so absent-minded people won't accidentally ban their team's picks. Or the assholes who purposely ban won't have an excuse, since they have to click "Yes, I am aware that I am banning an allies pick intent".

The best idea would be for people to realize that if they are 3-5th pick and their team doesn't have first pick (to trade), then they shouldn't pick intent pick/ban champions. But so many times the next to last guy will hover Camille or Yasuo, then our team will leave them open so they aren't assholes only to have the enemy team first pick them and dump on their lane.

Basically, the best thing here would be for people to realize that they shouldn't hover a pick/ban champion unless they or their team has first pick and can trade. If you're that guy, stop doing that. If your team can't first pick Camille for you, don't hover her as the 4th pick on your team. Thanks.

Or ya know...just look at your teammates' pick intent before you decide who to ban?

Starcraft243ver1/23/2017, 2:33:26 PM3 votes

It already does by showing you your teammates pick intend on the left side of your screen.

Saw a thread like this a month ago,m still agree. If a pop up shows up and you still ban a teammates pick, reported. Easy as that. File it under negative attitude or griefing or whatever.

You cant "Oops I didnt see" if a box literally warns you, which means scared of banhammer trolls stop doing it and people that do it anyways can face consequences. Another thing that there's literally no reason not to include it. However that 5 second addition wouldnt happen. riots pretty clear they want faster games even at the cost of quality (looking at you auto filled crybabies) so yeah.

+1, once I accidentally banned blitz . . which was the champ the support was picking. I was jungle- they played panth instead and became jungle, I had to support. Guess who never ganked bot.

I dont want to have to click more buttons just to ban yasou anyways, no thank you.

Draco16011/24/2017, 1:51:25 AM2 votes

No, I think they shouldn't allow it at all. Every once in a while youll get a troll who just bans a champion because their allies picked it. It just ruins it for the people who get their champ banned.

SanKakU1/23/2017, 4:07:00 PM2 votes

There's already an alert, it's just not very noticeable. The champion's picture is grey-scaled out.

I actually prefer it the way it is. Too many alerts nowadays are just incredibly obnoxious.

Sometimes I really just don't want that Heim jungle in my game.

Heim jungle main: Wtf dude?

Me: Oh sorry I misclicked, I meant to ban Hecarim /:

The fact that someone can accidentally ban someone's champion makes me lose faith in this community even more.. Like, do you not look at your team's pick intents??

Hunted90001/23/2017, 4:18:19 PM1 votes

I agree that this would be a nice feature ,but it shouldn't even be necessary if people would just look at their screen before banning...

SearingDarkness1/23/2017, 4:31:27 PM1 votes

It does, if you're about to select a champion that is being hovered then the icon will be MUCH darker than the rest in order to show that it might not be the best ban.

ExcusemeFellows1/23/2017, 4:42:33 PM1 votes

So uhm, what happens when someone doesn't choose their pick intent? That's literally most of my games.

CancerBasedGod1/23/2017, 7:58:57 AM1 votes

Sounds good, but why not outright prevent banning pick intent?

Summonerrr 11/23/2017, 5:17:10 PM1 votes

I don't want a warning for banning teemo.

The Pale King1/23/2017, 5:30:49 PM1 votes

Your teamates should not have the ability to ban your champ. If it's hovered over it should not be an option. People that ban other people's picks should be permanently ban. I main Zilean support and I have 5 seasons worth of experience on Zilean yet I always have that one ADC that bans my pick. I lock in tahm kench and continue to spit him into towers the rest of the game. I despise these kinds of people and they deserve it.

Mawootad1/23/2017, 2:49:58 PM1 votes

There shouldn't be a popup, there should just be a special highlight around champions that your team has hovered. Highlights prevent/dissuade you from reaching the point of banning a hovered champ in the first place, so it accomplishes the same thing except that it stops unintentional bans before they happen.
