Revolutionary idea for new item!!!

IllllllIIIIlllll··169 votes·5,849 views

I think there should be an item that reflect damage back from auto attack so that ad is not super stronk. The ideal stats for the item would be 2100 cost, 100 armor, return 30% of damage back. I even made the icon for it: item 3075

If you rushed it first item, your enemy laner couldn't attack you...The thornmail would just kill him. That's why I'm happy it got the nerf. It made top lane ADCs a bit more viable, which is great if you have someone that wants to take Morde bottom.

I don't think you've ever played against a good Quinn in the top lane as a bruiser. You pretty much have no way of countering her, except for building armor.

And then they nerfed armor.

The nerf was unjustified and stupid overall. Then again, with your name, you, as an ADC, would definitely enjoy it.

I've played as Quinn in the top lane, and I've had thornmail rushed against me, and then I could do absolutely nothing to my laner. I'm sorry your 2300 gold "haha you lose" item got nerfed.

Bouffon dAnglais53 votes

Speaking of 2300 "YOU LOSE" items, item 3035

Oh Last Whisper completely takes away your only form of offense while also adding a significant amount of defense? I didn't know.

I am level 5 bird watching Quinn main, and my most annoying lane opponent is Nasus. He can just farm all day long, regardless of how hard I harass him, and he just gets a frozen Heart, Randuin's, and thorn mail. I would just do no damage, and he'd do more damage than I could with a full build against a squishy.

Quinn has a blind, which is good against Nasus. Blind him when he Q's to farm your minions, then poke him. Obviously after Nasus can farm and has three tank items against you he's going to destroy you, he can do that to anyone.

Kuroi864 votes

Best to blind him when he's going for the seige minion, he gets more stacks from it than from the other lane minions.

Davy Crockett2 votes

no he doesnt. 3 stacks for each kill with Q. its only on veigar's Q

Kuroi864 votes

I was wondering for a second, "Did I remember wrong and that's just on champ kill?"

Lol, he actually does get more stacks from large minions though, looked it up on the wiki.

If Siphoning Strike kills its target, Nasus permanently gains 3 stacks of Siphoning Strike, doubled to 6 stacks if the victim was a champion, large minion or large monster.

Davy Crockett3 votes

ah okay. dont remember reading the double part

No Nasus builds all 3 and if he really did build all that he SHOULD be able to farm all day. If I build 3 MR items it should mean I take a lot less magic damage too.....

Ratbert11 votes

No, but it takes away a significant amount of their defence while increasing your offence. You realize vamp scepter + dorans beats thornmail for around half the gold? Take ls runes and you'll heal more than you take. If it was really that terrible, annie's e would be maxed every time.

disregardable1 votes

It literally doesn't. Blade of the Ruined King and Doran's doesn't beat it.

Mecha MaIphite2 votes

It softens the blow by a bit though.

Kuroi862 votes

This.

Life steal and armor pen doesn't out right beat armor, it really just softens up the unkillable into a slightly more managable foe. Granted by the time you rush Last Whisper they are likely to have enough armor to still cut your physical damage in half...

doombotMECHA1 votes

or ur jayce and you buy it as ur second item.

Kuroi861 votes

What? I thought that was item 3142 and you saved item 3035 for third at least?

DEN15 5121 votes

no you just rush item 3134 and move into other items. There is no need to complete the item until much later, as the crit chance and active aren't that important on him.

Kuroi861 votes

Hm, never knew.

Davy Crockett2 votes

It really doesn't. Search on youtube for "Varus vs Renekton Thornmail" or something like that. It explains everything.

Aka, why a full AD team comp is a bad idea lol.

Davy Crockett1 votes

pretty much. just gonna assume the downvotes are for me being lazy and not linking the video in the first place so thanks for finding it XD

Kuroi861 votes

That or some posters don't like evidence that ADCs aren't overpowered overlords of the rift in need of gutting.

Jingerbeardman1 votes

pretty much this

Kuroi861 votes

You realize vamp scepter + dorans beats thornmail for around half the gold? Take ls runes and you'll heal more than you take.

Um... no it doesn't. Thornmail deals it's damage based on pre-mitigation damage, meaning the damage you would take before calculating armor. If the enemy AA is supposed to deal 1000 damage before calculating armor, they are dealt back 150 damage plus 25% bonus damage based on your armor, so at least 175 magic damage. Life steal is based on the damage you deal, post mitigation. If their AA was meant to hit for 1000, then with 100-170 armor (Depending on armor penetration) they will deal more likely around 500 damage. item 1053 item 1055 and life steal quints gives you 15.5 life steal, that means you heal for around 77.5 health.

You still take 97.5 damage (A bit less given ADC still have at least 30 MR)

Ratbert1 votes

But when you have only dorans and vamp, you'll deal only around 90 damage, which reflects back 25 ish with the passive. The lifesteal will probably heal for 15, so I suppose you would need a bit mr to break even.

Kuroi861 votes

13.5 reflected plus 25 from AR and 50% physical damage reduction. 90 becomes 45 damage and 15.5% life steal becomes 2.325 per auto. 30 mr means around 15% magic damage reduction so 38 becomes 32.

Ratbert1 votes

Except adcs usually run the 6% pen mastery and have 4-7 arm pen + other damage increasing masteries so you'll probably end up doing 55 damage, which would heal 8.5.

45 damage will heal you 7 per hit, not 2.3. 45*0.155=6.9 30 mr gives 25% reduction, so 38 really becomes 28.5.

Kuroi861 votes

Hm, yep you're right.

JAGMAG1 votes

that's not a you lose its honestly not that effective unless paired with allot of damage and adcs need that item other wise we would literally never ever be able to kill tanks

Phoenix Kotori 1 votes

Sure you do it's called not dying early game, even if shes 30-40 cs up unless she gets fed most bruiser are plenty capable of dealing her in the midgame by sheer stat difference once they finish an item, especially ones such as Shyvana Olaf JarvanIV Singed Garen Irelia.

Jingerbeardman1 votes

singed is a bruiser?

Phoenix Kotori 1 votes

Sorry he's an "AP bruiser", he's not a tank since it lacks real hard CC to fit the tank role, and fighter feels like the wrong term, so yea I'd call him one.

Jingerbeardman1 votes

a knockup/back and root isnt hard cc?

Phoenix Kotori 1 votes

Compared to typical tank lockdown, no it isn't one single target spell doesn't make you a tank.

It Hertz When IP1 votes

Have to agree, especially since his root involves a weird sort of minigame of hit-the-ooze.

Jingerbeardman1 votes

well it is still "hard cc". whether or not you think he is a tank is up to you i suppose.

JAGMAG1 votes

Armour was very overpowered tanks rush one bug Armour item and then i couldn't scratch them till i had manged to build 5 item and then it was small scratches i needed a full 6 to do any meaningful damage to tanks now i still need basically 5 items to do damage to tanks so even with the nerfs nothings really changed

Mecha MaIphite16 votes

Top lane adcs are disgusting. I loved rushing thornmail just to watch them cry... after I mopped up my own tears, of course.

item 3070 Quinn item 3070

You're one of those malphite top laners aren't you?(Quinn main)

IGotScuttleCrabs4 votes

Then I build Quinn item 3153 item 3071 item 3025 item 3111 item 3143 - item 3065 // item 3156 And probably still output more damage than most because I'm vaulting off your face every 4 seconds or so and you're as blind as LeeSin.

This item does fuck all against AD casters, though. That's why I always hated it. It's such a heavy handed design exclusively for countering ADCs. It's an item from an outdated design philosophy and I feel it needs to be replaced.

IGotScuttleCrabs8 votes

This^ I've been wanting for at least 1 ad caster item counter for so long. item 3110 item 3075 item 3143 are all 100% adc counters and semi counters to casters because the passives don't do jack to them

Kuroi863 votes

Admittedly though AD casters deal their damage in bursts as opposed to DPS, while burst can be pretty significant, it doesn't take long for DPS to catch up and out scale it mid-late game.

doombotMECHA1 votes

this. urgot, the classic ad caster, and talon, another oldie, are both lane bullies who fall off lategame. however, there should be some item to counter the carry ad casters like Zed , Yasuo , and Riven , who all scale and in the case of riv and zed can chose to build only ad. these chars need a dedicated armor item so that we can itemize vs. fed ones, the same way you item 3075 against a fed master yi.
