Why are runes and rune pages so expensive?

I guess before I could understand why they were so expensive, but now it just seems rediculous that you should even have to buy runes or rune pages. 6300 IP for a rune page? Thats insane!!!

To keep the players playing.

As dumb as it sounds, the same concept happens with other games like CoD, where you unlock content for reaching this or that milestone.

You want to play the game to it's fullest? You better grind out OR slap the dollar bills at the monitor to progress faster.

To make player choose between new runes or a new champ. You can buy camps not runes. So you spend your ip on runes and get impatient and buy RP for a champ.

you arent buying them... you get them for free via IP that you get just for playing the game.

and they reduced all tier 1 and 2 runes to 1 IP and alot of the most common used tier 3 runes have been reduced

You're literally spending hours at a time to build up the necessary ip to buy one page, which also then require several more hours to get the necessary runes for it to matter. Time is a valuable currency.

Redundant point to make, since the point is that ip is involved, and it requires said time, regardless of the original purpose, to get said page and said runes. My point stands.
