@Riot, Is it safe to say that no one there has a good method of fixing Malzahar's W?

Between http://www.surrenderat20.net/2016/11/118-pbe-update.html#balance

And http://www.surrenderat20.net/2016/06/627-pbe-update.html#bal1

Which were both quick to be reverted. Is it safe to assume that currently there is no idea how to properly adjust post rework malzahar's offensive power? Those are also the only two which made it to the PBE for a time, so that doesn't even include the number of attempts which likely have occurred internally and never made it to the public.

With such failures considered, can we really conclude that the new malzahar is actually in a healthier state than the pre-rework version?

If this update goes through where they no longer attract to R or E, it will kill him and make his W useless.

Not to mention, you can literally only get like 2-3 voidlings out now because of the timer.

This will literally Sejuani and Eve Malz.

Tbh, I'm quite concerned Malzahar would become one of the worst champs in the game, if only because he can't tell his voidlings (which are now the majority of his damage) what to do; AT ALL.

Enemy laner decides to fight with you and makes a positioning error while you have a good number of voidlings out? Too bad, your voidlings won't follow up on whatever you do unless NOTHING ELSE is around the enemy champion. Even if he drops his entire rotation on the enemy, they'll be able to just walk away afterwards because the rest of his kit is simply neutered damage wise.

What gets me is that they're even MAKING this big of a change to him, when one of his biggest items, Rylais is getting changed in the next few patches; so he'll likely benefit or suffer from that change depending on how its adjusted.

Edit: Hell, I can't see how he'll even reliably regain mana, because the voidlings won't focus minions with visions on them anymore

Voidlings now have 3 "HP" - similar to wards.

Is my bigger concern. Makes ranged ADCs so much stronger where they could clear all of the spawns before they do any damage with runaan and/or attack speed which they'll have plenty mid game and on.

Then for someone like Morgana, she'll have literally zero chance in killing these and just have to run from Malz everytime he uses this ability? They get so much stronger against casters who have to auto a pack of them and have no chance to kill a single one before they get swarmed. Syndra toss will do crapall to a pack of them?

ADC buffs yet again
