How about instead of removing every alternate build you just balance them??

Maybe this is a crazy thought, but how about instead of removing the entire viability of AD fizz (and all the other off build champs that have been crushed over the years) we just actually balance them?

AD fizz is too strong, so what do we do? just remove it? Why? Why not just nerf it? Why does every champion have to be pigeon holed into one build.

Isn't it boring to have to build the exact same items in the exact same order every game? At what point do you just remove the store entirely and just implement an auto buy feature? If there is no actual choice in items and only one viable option, then having the option to buy other things is just a noob trap.

Riot, just do the friggin work to balance multiple builds on a champ, you have the resources. I know its a little harder, but if you need a few more dollars ill buy a skin.

AD Fizz is still going to be viable. He will just lose his early all-in potential.

The problem is the power of a lot of "off builds" lies in horrible mechanics. Ekko being used as a tank is ok, but not when he brings all his assassination potential with him. Fizz going an AD on hit is ok, but not when he brings all his assassination potential with the tanky build. That's the problem: AD Fizz is bringing almost all the assassination power of AP Fizz, just with more stickiness, more sustained damage, and tankiness. He isn't losing much for going AD, and he gains a lot (can itemize CDR much better with tanky items, more sustained damage, even stickier). The ult change is good: it makes him lose some of the assassination power AD Fizz has while not weakening AP Fizz or weakening AD's sustained damage.

AD viable was always viable since release. But after Riot tried to nerf AP fizz by shifting power into his ultimate, it also buffed AD fizz since he got his ultimate buffed and AP ratio nerfed (which was useless for AD fizz) so this "alternate" build started overshadowing AP fizz. Now the changes will just bring him back to his original state, where both AP and AD are viable.
