Why TLD on Galio
first of all how the hell do you proc it on him
second why not COTC? It only procs off your ult, sure, but that just means it's always up when you need it most. Seems like a way better choice, an I wrong?

Galio mains please answer
i'm just going to say this is because there is no high elo galio main setting an example.
Not a main, but I'm bored and feel like talking.
TLD is basically the keystone you pick if nothing else fits that well IMO. So Galio may not make the best use of it, but he'll be able to chain his spells often enough to proc it more than CoTC.
CoTC is only activated by his ult and will basically be done when his ult goes off. You don't really use Galio's ult when you're low, you usually (I could be wrong) just find a cheese tactic to make it start a fight or do it when you've somehow gotten in the middle of the enemy. Their damage output in taunt isn't what's going to worry you, it's whoever isn't taunted that can CC you and cancel your ult that does.
That's just how I see it.
yeah but your CDs aren't low enough for TLD, so you only proc it if your ult's up or you can manage to hit them in melee range
Yeah. I never said it was good.
I mean I guess you could make use of it if you buy a hextech item or Luden's, but I don't think either of those are optimal for him.
could be wrong though
To be fair, Galio's kit is kinda just awful. It doesn't really flow at all.

I don't main Galio, but I did play him quite a bit in season 3/4. I will say that with the keystone system, he would be better off with DFT. Since his CDs are long, the extra damage will help with his poke. If he wants something other than DFT, I would not get COTC. COTC provides a shield that negates damage. The way to do damage with Galio's ult is to take some damage, and if he has some of that damage negated, it has a possibility to do less damage. Thats just my opinion though. Like I said, I haven't actually played him (a couple times for fun) in almost two years.
