How to Climb

Shit player here. What advice would you have for a Top/Midd/Supp main (undecided b/w all of them) to climb?

for me i would say just stay with support just because you have a 99 percent chance to get the role and you can learn more about the game since your not always focused on carrying each game on your own.

it also depends on how you like to play.

support is the worst role to play when you're trying to climb. You never know what kind of team you can get and you're reliant on your team to win. Any other lane has the ability to carry the game themselves.

Not its not i know many people who main support and get to diamond

Yes. There are support mains who happen to be diamond, and I'm sure they could get to diamond again on a new support main account.

But for someone struggling to climb in the first place, support isn't going to be the most efficient role.

support is a role that "comes online" somewhere in mid to high elo. it's near impossible to get out of iron/bronze/silver/gold maining support without playing carry "supports" like pyke or vel'koz

I see it all the time. Just had a friend who mains support climb from silver into plat 2 and she is diamond on her main.

Great, someone who can actually play more than one role. now you just gotta pick one.

choose a main role and stick with that choose 3-5 champions and stick with those buy as many pinks as you can every time you leave base actually use them open your eyes look at the map keep looking at the map ask yourself why you're doing things. have a good reason. if there's no good reason, don't do it.

Don't play top, it's a jungle impact wins lane type of lane. Sup honestly biggest carry role

Am i wrong? Nvm ur p4, don't answer that.

Being better than 85% of the player base is good enough in my eyes to be giving advice. Supports help their team. They lack the kit and the gold to carry a game by themselves and when you're trying to climb, you should plan to be as self-reliant as possible to avoid depending on teams that could be useless, especially at lower elo.

But enlighten me since you want to talk like you're a master-ranked support main.

you don't have to one-trick, but you should narrow down your lanes and your champ pool as much as possible. You'll get your primary lane almost every single time and you only need to be good with 2 or 3 champs on the off-chance that your primary champ is picked or banned. By narrowing down your options as much as possible you gain experience with your chosen champ and lane faster than if you always switched back and forth.

Playing the same champ 50 times in a row versus playing it once every now and then can be the difference of missing a critical skillshot by a few pixels or overestimating your stats by just a tiny bit and costing or winning you the game.

That said, assuming you're iron/bronze/silver, I suggest you main a very simple champ. The type of champ that's very easy to do very well with instead of the champ that has to play perfectly and allows no room for mistakes to perform well.

For midlane I recommend Annie Morgana Malzahar Veigar

For top I recommendGaren Darius Mordekaiser Tryndamere

Is Glacial/Electrocute good for a n00b like me? I've played her a bit and done quite well with her.

Glacial is a pretty good rune for Morgana and Veigar. Slowing the enemy first using item 3905 (which is a pretty good item on them anyways) makes it easier to land your skill shots and/or cage.

For Malzahar I recommend aery or maybe dark harvest. Maybe Comet if you plan on getting Liandry/Rylai's because their team is tank heavy.

Electrocute works fine I suppose on Garen Darius and morde, but really I think conquerer is the bestfor most situations for all 3.

Well yeah, I was talking about Glacial Ahri/Electrocute (obviously not on Top laners other than maaaybe Akali sometimes).

make sure you got the basics right. from my 2 years in silver i can tell majority have no idea what champ is good in early/mid/lategame, how much it hurts to fight inside a minion wave, how enemys that are 2 lv above you most likely are stronger, etc etc.
