Issues with Death Recap
So, I have some serious issues with the current iteration of the death recap system. Random bugs with sources aside, the recap is NOT a good representation of what happened in a fight to the point I question the validity of even playing this game sometimes because of perceived bugs causing instadeath.
Case in point = I was playing a game as Olaf earlier, I had 4500 health, full build, 150~ in both Armor and MR. Decently tanky, not absurdly but decently. 3 seconds dead in any teamfight. Just blowup, no matter what, no chance to react. I tried using death recap to see what was happening to me...
And I was greated with 2500 damage dealt in 3 seconds, and sources were all over the place with the numbers and it was impossible to tell what killed me. I bought a Iron Flask, and went up to 4800 health, so 300 more than I was, next death recap showed 2800 damage in 3 second, the EXACT amount more that I gained. Now, clearly it's just an issue with death recap only showing partial information, I was killed in around 3 seconds from 100% health, and there's no gaps, but come on. The amount goes up the EXACT amount that I gained, and I'm left there missing 2k damage? What am I supposed to think over that, perhaps there's a problem and I'm losing 2k health instantly from some bug like the old fiddle instakill bounces bug or something?
Pretty much the current death recap just is insufficient/not a good representation of what happened to a player and it's been a REALLY long time since it was proposed that we would see a better death recap. I see streamers pointing out getting just blown up and death recap showing something absurd like dragon hitting them with a lightning proc or something, or a minion dealing redbuff damage. Isn't about time we had an update to death recap?
