Lulu is strong in a meta where people die in 2 seconds
who would have fucking thought
who would have fucking thought
why do i get the feeling all the people complaining about lulu right now are assassin and burst mains who cant stand the thought of someone countering their precious meta
Because I have that feeling too.
Maybe it's just true that those who are complaining are assassin mains.
I main Lulu support and I'm complaining right now.
I don't have a problem with smart people playing Lulu and get rewarded for it, I have a problem when the stupidest of players can get away with everything.
lulu main here too. I sort of feel like thunderlords puts her over the edge early game b/c she can so easily get off 3 consecutive spells/attacks. I'm only low gold though, so no idea how it is when good peeps play zee lulu
Free point and click damage so you can deal even more damage with nearly zero retaliation, which requires very little thought.
And they get away with it, while being heavily rewarded as well. Perfectly okay.
yeah. Here's something that i usually end up thinking early laning phase - It's not worth me casting a shield on my ADC that's not going to even shield 1 auto attack vs proc'ing t-lords and taking away half the health of the enemy adc/support. I'm all for nerfing the damage, but wondering if it would then make sense to buff the shield? Maybe? I dunno
Shield is fine, she doesn't need compensation buffs on that part.
Or think about it-- unless you KNOW how to guide your ADCs around and let them know when or when not to trade, why bother trying to figure that out when you can just walk in, "poke" with enemy cast, and do more damage on top of having much less retaliation for the enemy team? Why bother trying to think when you can just take the easier route by not having to do so?
I think I'm out of my league here. I think i know what you're talking about, but most likely not. need to learn me sum more things first. That said, I'll def take your word on this while i try to figure out all the things. Question for you, I currently max my e first then my w. It seems to be working for me, but i've been seeing some flame for people that do that :p In most cases is it usually smarter to max q, then w? Thx in advance.
E max is literally the highest winrate setup right now, so if anyone's flaming otherwise, they probably hasn't been keeping up on stuff.
Ideally, I would max W because it is Lulu's signature spell, and the usage of that determines how good or bad someone is at playing Lulu support. If they are also flaming for that, they just don't know how absurdly powerful it is when you can have it as low cooldown as possible.
My advice is if you want to just win and forget about having fun or feel accomplished, go ahead and max E. Otherwise if you want to actually learn the champion in case she gets nerfed, try maxing W, it's fun. Q max isn't worth at all because 1) its slow duration is now flat, 2) its cooldown is also flat (7 seconds w/o CDR), and 3) its mana cost legit got gutted, so keeping it rank 1 is all you need.
Not like she hasn't been food for people most of the time she tries to use her passive without it since it puts her in perfect range to get dived.
Diving is exactly what Lulu wants people to try to do.
At least it's not a case of Lux. She doesn't even require 3 procs. Just Q + AA or E + AA is enough to proc Thunderlords.
No I'm Diamond and I agree that her burst at lv 2/3 (whenever you take Glitterlance) with Tlords is pretty ridiculous.
And I'm the one playing Lulu, not saltily playing against her.
I don't think she's op otherwise though. I agree with OP, actually.
I dunno why the downvotes but I sorta agree. Lulus can 1v2 early on and win. Easily. Her shields and ult are very strong defensive tools and that's fine but her poke damage is off the charts too. And it slows for a large amount. And she also has an attack speed steroid for her ADC and also hard CC that lasts 1.5s iirc.
I've never seen someone complain about Lulu because of her shields and ult? Or even her W which makes any support cream their jeans. I've seen lots of complaints about her damage which isn't something she should have unless she builds for it. And honestly by themselves her abilities are fine but together is there a reason to choose anyone over her? Polymorph, knockup on her ult, a shield, a health steroid for her ally, an attack speed steroid for her ally, very long range, an intense slow, and respectable damage.
I think it's balanced a bit by the fact that she has to choose whether to use her W or E on an ally or enemy, so obviously listing out her strengths makes her sound better than she is. But that's still a lot of fucking strengths lol. Lulu is strong in ANY meta. Yes she's strong against assassins but if that was why she was being picked then Janna would be the one people are complaining about. Imagine if Janna could poke ._.

I'd say a key weakness is she can only peel from at most 2 things at once due to having targeted abilities, while Janna can peel from 5 people. But in a meta where usually 2 things are diving, Lulu can handle the job just fine. Her other key weakness is she's NOT built for engage. But with a few good frontliners and how strong tanks are in meta right now, that's not a problem either.
Though Lulu is one of the best scouts in the game. No other champion can easily run off clearing wards, checking brushes with an easily dispensable tool (though range isn't the best especially if people have hooks), get out alive if gets caught, AND give herself an attackspeed buff to clear wards faster.
I will even throw in how she can click a button to make stealth pointless, how she can trash "peel the X comps" with a click of a button, make taking objectives even faster, and even her ability to kite as support. She does so much but unfortunately, all these are fairly overlooked and people only saw her peeling and poking ability. These weren't the strongest, so people asked for buffs.
I think it's balanced a bit by the fact that she has to choose whether to use her W or E on an ally or enemy, so obviously listing out her strengths makes her sound better than she is.
Ideally, that should be the very essence of how Lulu gets success from: choosing the right targets to buff/debuff at the right times. But you see, that's not happening. People just go full poke, then full peel, and not get punished for not using their spells wisely. And that's the problem.
But that's still a lot of fucking strengths lol. Lulu is strong in ANY meta. Yes she's strong against assassins but if that was why she was being picked then Janna would be the one people are complaining about. Imagine if Janna could poke ._.
I'll add on to this. If Lulu really focuses on utilizing how well she "shuffles" her spells, all these nerfs in the past actually do nothing to Lulu support. The most noticeable is the Q waveclear that may fuck up her ADC's farming patterns, and the W duration nerf that only gave an incentive to max it ASAP.
I just want to play in a meta where someone like Karthus is a good pick. The most burst I'm okay with is Vlad's E, since it's telegraphed, and chargable.
EDIT: Plus, if Karthus is a good pick, Rumble will be a better option too. Maybe then I won't get dicked on because everyone picks Susan and Darius top lane.
If Karthus is ever considered a 'good pick' like how Kha'zix or Rengar is considered a 'good pick' then something is seriously wrong with League. I would like to see more champions being played but Karthus' kit is made to be countered he will only ever be considered a good pick in certain situations.
Lulu is strong after being buffed 10 times in a row
who would have fcking thought
Lulu is strong as a support after receiving a few buffs and bug fixes following a slew of nerf for years that killed her ability to support and only made her a tier 3 top laner.
Who would have fucking thought.
Your logic is not welcome here
Yeah i know, it's easier to say non-sense about lulu being strong in this meta where 15 champs should be strong in this meta but can't have more than 50% win rate
[deleted]
I remember when sona had like a 58% winrate. "Its just the meta guys, she is not too strong at all"
Which came after an equal line of even worse nerfs.
Meanwhile Janna has been good since the day she stepped out of the fucking primordial muck.
ppl just look the otherway with janna entirely base on the fact that she is the most reactive character in the game, nothing about her say play making, but instead the anti play making, all her kit is base around denying engages and enemy atents to make things happen, if they do nothing, janna do nothing all game
Good strategy
Just let Janna's team do whatever they want so Janna can't be useful. Stupid character.
to be honest shes not even that strong in low elo. She hovers a 51% winrate in bronze- silver. Its only in gold + where her winrate spikes to 53
And that's why Riot balances around plat+ gameplay, not bronze/silver. lol
Irrelevant.
its not irrelevant its a fact lol stop being salty
So? What does the performance of a character in the lowest ranks mean? They're the lowest ranks for a reason. Yi is OP there. That's a fact. Give me upvotes because I stated a fact!
Current Master Yi winrate (from na.op.gg over the past month)
Bronze - 48.94% Silver - 51.37% Gold - 52.62% Plat - 52.35% Diamond - 52.26% Master - 48.86% (only 88 games played) Challenger - 33% (only 6 games played)
But dont let statistics interrupt your "facts" or your bias. Please continue on how Yi is OP in the lowest ranks.
Whether or not yi is actually OP is irrelevant to my point
...so when youre wrong about something, it doesnt matter. When youre right, it matters. Got it.
Salty assassin mains get rekt by the SUPPORT lol feelsgoodman
I think it's hilarious that people are crying over a support that was specifically designed to counter assassins being 'too strong' in this meta... that is full of assassins.
People want the rewards of playing assassins without the risk. Everyone is countered by someone and Lulu just counters assassins, ban accordingly or stop QQ'ing
I don't think that's the main reason people are crying over her for...
I'm more worried about how she gets to click E on enemies for free, and basically becomes a Janna that can additionally poke, topped off with an item that is beyond over-buffed. Plenty of interaction and thought involved, and perfectly fun and fair to play against that as you can only sit there and get outclassed.
xD
Sure, her getting buffs had absolutely nothing to do with it
Yea her passive buffs is why she's picked a lot for sure, not her W or ult or anything

Yes, sometimes something that seemingly insignificant might make a difference. I'm detecting some bias here for some reason, can't quite put my finger on it..
Yes yes I'm sure it's the extra damage Pix does that everyone is crying about
Not to mention you main Jax and Nasus so of course you're all upset when a 3'10 yordle keeps your winrate at 50%. c;

Lulu is getting picked because of her lane power, not because she stops people from being assassinated. There's plenty of supports who can do that. Lulu + any poke bot lane basically eat your tower in the first 5-7 minutes.
As for your comments about my winrates, they're actually 86% and 67% over my last 20 respectively because I came back after a long layoff and sucked. Besides, I actually like Lulu on my team as much as I hate her on the enemy team so that cancels out and makes it very clear that Lulu is busted.
Explain to me how Lulu is "busted", and how she's killing the fun of the game because champs like Khazix, Rengar, and Graves aren't ;)

She kills the fun for Khazix Rengar and Graves spammers
Lulu got buffed over a long duration of time and its adding up.

The meta shifting to support lulu is just the icing on the cake. If you are a lulu player, dont pretend like the buffs never happened :)
NEW LESS LANCE MORE GLITTER: Damage now falls to 70% against targets hit beyond the first
B U F F S
Never said buffs never happened, but buffs aren't why she's strong. If we were in a tank meta, no one would be crying.
"NEW LESS LANCE MORE GLITTER: Damage now falls to 70% against targets hit beyond the first"
'Damage now falls to 70% against targets hit beyond the first'
'70% against targets hit beyond the first'
'beyond the first'
This nerf was targeted towards solo mane lulu (I am pretty sure I said that already but in case i didnt) so that way she would not be an abused pick again
and the buffs more than made up for this "support lulu nerf". These buffs even made her strong again to be picked in LCS
Ashe is played in LCS. Where's her nerf?
A=/=B
Ashe's kit has never been cancer the way lulu's was when she was being played top and mid during seasons 3 and 4
ashe did get nerfs in patches 6.18 and 6.20
But I thought since she's strong enough to be picked in LCS she's OP too?
